Why blast Gowan? He is getting paid to do a job. If you want to blast someone, blast Tommy, JY, and Chuck. They make the business decisions of Styx. Everyone knows you don't dig Gowan doing Dennis's songs, but I think you would dislike anyone doing Dennis's songs other than Dennis. If Sir Paul were singing CSA, you'd bitch. Direct your anger toward the situation that is Styx and all of the parties that led to this divorce. Don't take it out on the guys that are getting paid to do the best they can to perform the catalog.

To blast Gowan for a business decision that Tommy and JY were 95% responsible for is inane. The only input Gowan could have had would be to say that this is jumping the shark and he would be willing to lose his paycheck over this decision. First off, I doubt he's going to care very much. Secondly, whatever your feeling about his voice, Lawrence Gowan is a nice guy who really doesn't deserve deliberate disrespect from anyone. if you don't like him, don't like him, that's your right . . . but what are you gaining by insulting a person you probably have never even met? That's nuts, and it ought to be beneath you. It ought to be beneath EVERYONE, and if it isn't, then you should set your aspirations higher.

And as it's been pointed out, Gowan makes none of the decisions, so if the band has been ruined in your opinion, he's not the one who did it. What's he supposed to do, NOT accept a great gig in a successful band because a guy he doesn't even know isn't there anymore? When you got offered YOUR job, did you say, "No, thanks, this job really ought to belong to so-and-so"? Of course not, that's deranged.

I am a fan of the classic Styx always. I really do think that Larry is top notch talent, wish Styx would do another full album, and give Gowan a chance to write more. I have met Larry once, and he seems very nice and down to earth I really can't say anything bad about him at all. My only complain was on "Rockin the Paradise" on Styxworld live, that wasnt good.

I don't agree with what Froy did and I don't agree that people are still sending Dennis hateful mail and that goes for every musician and celebrity. I know everyone has a right to their opinion, but sheesh, enough. When I interview bands/musicians we sometimes talk about this and it's interesting and sad on their take of their experiences with this.
