I'm a HUGE Dennis DeYoung fan, I'm a HUGE Classic Styx fan. I'm also a fan of Tommy Shaw's solo work, Glen Burtnik's solo work, Shaw & Blades, Damn Yankees and other Styx projects done.

I'm not a fan of Gowan singing Dennis' songs, that's my opinion. HOWEVER, I don't have anything against Gowan at all as a person or anyone that would've taken the job in the band. I just can't see how ANYONE can turn down a job opportunity for income and job they enjoy to do.

I have seen the new Styx live in concert since July 1999, so I can give my opinion of the new line up and their concerts. I NEVER had to pay for a ticket to see them and I won't, every ticket was a free ticket.

For quite a while I was VERY mad, hurt, pissed off, that my favorite band, the band I grew up with kicked out one of my favorite singers, a band that he co-founded. BUT, things do happen for a reason. Dennis is happy with all the opportunities that he has been offered and has been working on. These projects probably would've never happened if he was still a full time member of Styx touring 100-200 dates a year. Now he can make the decisions on what he wants to do when he wants to do it. It's still very sad, to me, on how it happened and the timing. Styx was his baby and poof, gone. BUT time has moved on and it doesn't pay to keep dwelling on what happened.

I'm a huge Dennis supporter and will keep going to his concerts and buying all of his music and help promote his projects whenever I can.

As for Tommy, I love hearing him live in concert, I love his songs too. BUT to me, the harmonies are gone.

NOW, with Dennis' new line-up, WOW, the harmones are there and hearing them live, brings me back to the Classic Styx music that I grew up with. This is my opinion, like it or not.

Yes Froy, this is gettiold, and one of the reason I don't hang out here much anymore.

We've lost quite a few people here and a few (including Zan and Laurie, I noticed) that don't post much here anymore because a few trolls ( IE chickenbeef and Froy) who ruin the fun for all of us. And now Andrew had to lock not one but two threads? I'll continue to lurk here from time to time myself but until the troublemakers are either banned or supressed here I don't feel the need to add to the madness or continuing to feed the trolls for that matter
