Tommy's Bluegrass CD

Postby froy » Mon Jun 07, 2010 11:48 pm

Looks like Shaw will be thrown out of the band soon, I know STYX is a Rock band and any members doing Bluegrass or Show tunes will be sandbagged and left out to fend for themselves, I guess it's Gowan and JY who can sing to each other from now on.
It's not fair to the other members that a guy goes out and does something on their own so Shaw is done. Who the hell does he think he is doing solo projects? Im sorry but that is selfish. What a loser.

You get over it, Tommy Shaw will be fired as soon as this cd comes out. It's not fair to Rickie and Gowan.

He doesn't appear to be letting it affect his work with Styx.

It would appear to be affecting his work with STYX if there was a big Baby like Shaw in the band threatening to quit the band
because of it. Just like Shaw did during BNW

I really don't think that it's work for TS. They have been just playing the same old stuff for ever. He could do that in his sleep. Not the same as working on a project of new material for Styx. Funny how it is OK for TS to have outside projects but for past members this was taboo.

Open our eyes to what? Tommy is free to do whatever he wants. Who is gonna kick him out...Lawrence? Todd? Doubt it. JY wouldn't do it either. I'll be generous to you fanatics and say that maybe there's a double standard and Tommy is "getting away with" more than Dennis did. Oh well. That's not our problem.

I have tickets to Styx on June 24th in Pittsburgh and tickets to Dennis DeYoung on June 25th in Niagara Falls. It's real simple to just enjoy the music and the talent and not give a shit about band politics.

I'm going to Styx because I've been trying to catch them on every tour since 2003. I enjoy their show.

I'm going to Dennis the next day because I've never seen him live, he plays a much longer set, and by all accounts, puts on a great show.

My guess is covers. Seems that is what TS has been focusing on lately. Big Bang Theory, Influence and the forthcoming Influence II (as if once wasn't bad enough). Not to mention all those B Label tribute albums he has been on.

That's because JY would be out of a job. TS is key to JY's meal ticket. He has proven that without Styx no one in the industry is interested JY the musician.
