If Styx would have let that Rolling Scum magizine reporter follow them around back in 1980 Gowan would have replaced DDY much sooner!

For all of you that are in the dark about what Yogi is talking about.

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/ne ... how_page=0

This is what happened.

President Obama recalled the top U.S. general in the Afghanistan War, Gen. Stanley McChrystal , following a magazine interview in which McChrystal criticized several top U.S. officials and said he felt betrayed by the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan.

Read the complete news story.

You mean you didn't know? JY is actually the true President of the United States and Obama is just a "front man" for him. Kind of like DDY was for JY in Styx! :P

This is true. JY REALLY IS Dr. Righteous.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

NOW my 'assembly line' is taking off!!

Dr. Righteous and Tommy Biden would of had to force Dennis out the door had Rolling Scum been following them around.

His songs were starting to undermine the entire group concept.

Welcome Gowan to the 80's!!

Not true. Poll half the people at a styx show they'll know who he is. The other half will be surprised that it's not dennis up there.

... much like you could poll people at a Dennis show and they won't give two shits if August is doing Tommy songs.

At the end of the day, 99% of that audience wants to hear the songs played they came to hopefully get - the hits. They could give a flying fuck who is in the band as long as it sounds close.

August is more in the league tonally than Gowan is for doing DDY songs (and I like Gowan because he's not trying to be Dennis, but it's both a blessing and a curse). It doesn't bring down those 99% at all at either show. Even though I don't love Gowan's voice on the DDY tunes (but do like him on HIS songs which are some of the strongest for the band post-1999), it does the job just fine. That 1% who gives a flying fuck will always find fault.
