With that being said, GREAT call on a young Robin Zander. Heck yes this guy can sing. When we got there about 4:45, and soundcheck was in progress, I knew he'd nail everything. He and the other guys were then walking around the carnival and getting some food. I am mad I didn't go up to him and say hello. Do any of you know how many live shows he's done with DDY so far?

nah. His voice got more deep, more rounded, but still pretty cool. While working out the bass parts to Lady the other day, I click on Youtube links with the original single and then his later, Greatest Hits performance. WOW, whatta difference in approach. I have to say I like the original styling that he used. He's made fun of his early vocal performances in interviews and stuff. I, like you, prefer the older sound he had, but he's still a great singer.

August Zadra is a fantastic addition to Dennis's band. He was very entertaining to watch and he's extremely talented. I'd like to hear him on a new Dennis album-- If Dennis stays in the writing mode he was in for One Hundred Years From Now and has August sing 3-4 songs, it'll be more Styx than Styx.

While I have reservations about DDY adding the TS songs to his set list, I have to say that August did a really good job with them. The recent line up changes to DDY's band has made a very positive impact to his shows.

You Bet all 4 guys have added a nice impact to the show, It felt like a STYX concert to me with the setlist being all Styx but it's time to kick it up a notch and get to better venues and stages, The harmonies are terrific and Shaw songs fit great, He should have been doing these songs from the beginning.

The only way for classic rock artists to get label promotion is if they do it themselves, unfortunately.

Other than the top industry artists, they don't promote these artists any more. Walrus for Styx was a fluke, as were the singles released by Shaw Blades. Of course, other than during the intial release, radio stations will always promote the original version over a remake. So many artists are shooting themselves in the foot. Even Tom Petty is giving his new music away for free. So that should say alot.
