I was hoping that he would've played the whole song of "Pieces of Eight", but not enough time.

After tonight's show, I'm surprised that Dennis wasn't the headliner, other people thought the same thing.

Both Mickey Thomas and Kenny Loggins voices were very, very, very good!

40% of songs were Tommy's lead vocal. Interesting.

I wish I remembered what Kenny played, my friend's daughter has the setlist. He does have a good band with very good backup vocals.

I don't know if this is the correct order, but these were some of the songs he played. I think I have it right for the encore.

Danny's Song
Return To Pooh Corner
Whenever I Call You Friend
Conviction Of The Heart
Sweet Reunion
The Real Thing
Heart To Heart
This Is It
I'm A Free Man Now
Don't Fight It
Your Mama Don't Dance

Encore:
I’m Alright
Danger Zone
Footloose
Celebrate Me Home

I was on the right side for Mickey and then the middle center, front row for Dennis. I noticed how you were sitting through "Mr. Roboto" - LOL I'm still going through the 400 pics I took last night.

A couple of the best parts last night was watching Kenny Loggins on the side enjoying Dennis' concert a LOT and then after Dennis' show listening to Dennis and Kenny talking with each other.

Holy Moly Debbie Downer, You are one bitter, threadcrapping person on here. Did you even read every post???? It was a show with Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, Dennis DeYoung and Kenny Loggins - that's 3 different performers, not much time for all of them.

Dennis only had so much time to play, what don't you understand? He was showcasing some of Styx Greatest Hits, you know, the band that he co-founded some years ago.

Sheesh, do you need every set list posted from all his concerts and how much time he has to play during each show?? He's been mixing it up depending where he plays.

What math are you people doing? 4 (BCM, Renegade, TMTOMH, FY) out of 14 songs is 28.5%. Nearly 3/4 of the show is still Dennis' stuff.

Styx has a very similar ratio ... again, much ado about nothing.

CORRECTION:
http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/styx/2010 ... 402fa.html
Out of 12 songs, 5 are Dennis (GI, Lady, Lorelei, SMB, CSA) plus whatever parts of that medley. So Styx does a higher ratio of Dennis songs. Where's the similar outrage? (Yes, I'm just pointing out that this whole setlist thing is just ridiculous ...)

I wonder what songs DDY's going to take out once they add "Crystal Ball" and "Boat on the River" to the setlist. Now that should be interesting

What I understand is he has gone from doing a lot of solo songs to one, and now to none. That is what I have argued on this forum for months now...that he knows that go to his shows to hear Styx, not his solo songs...and that he would rather perform Tommy's Styx songs instead of his own solo material because of it...this set is just further proof of that.

As I said in another thread, he's never done a ton of solo songs except in th extended orchestral shows. In the rock shows it was generally only Desert Moon and maybe a Hunchback song (which he did drop altogether - not suprising since a lot of people bitched about them even being there). When he was actively promoting 100 Years he had a song or two in there, so maybe 2 or 3 solo songs AT MOST in the rock shows at any given point over the past 10 years.

Your understanding of "a lot" is pretty skewed. So please come from a standpoint of knowledge, not conjecture.

Who is left in Starship from the original lineup? I'm guessing Grace Slick never came back to sing with Mickey on 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now". :P They have some good Mickey lead songs, though. I love "Jane".

Loggins would be good, too.

Maybe the snippet of POE will get into a future show to mix it up a bit. My guess is, they are working on more to slot in here and there. Hope so at least.

This is just another of the many varieties of shows Dennis does, discussed at length here. Each one has songs you may or may not hear show-to-show. One reason to keep coming back.

And who really gives a f**k what an avowed Dennis-hater has to say in a thread about a DDY show.

First of all...EXXXXCCCUUUUUSEE ME. I did miscount the total number of songs. My error. Typical over sensitive folks around here. For the record, I have supported DDY and the current line up of Styx. Would like them to one day reunite, but have enjoyed both over the last decade. Point was...it is a growing number. Interesting. Read into it what you want.

Regarding Loggins, no Keep the Fire? Always liked that song.

Last I checked his shows are titled Dennis DeYoung and THE MUSIC OF STYX. Looks pretty clear what to expect. The title of the show is pointing out that the focus is Styx. You know, the band he help start and spent the majority of his career in. If you have such a low opinion of him why do you care what he is doing. I doubt that the current members of Styx are losing sleep over it. Plus what he is doing in no way hinders the opportunities Styx currently has. They have the upper hand by owning the band name etc. etc.

No it's not. If "The Music of Styx" were displayed in such a prominent way, it's very possible that Styx could sue him to make him stop.

Looks pretty clear what to expect.

Fact is that he has gone from doing 4-5 solo songs in the early days to none.

The title of the show is pointing out that the focus is Styx. You know, the band he help start and spent the majority of his career in.

Irrelevant to me.

If you have such a low opinion of him why do you care what he is doing.

I don't have a 'low opinion' of Dennis. However, it seems his fans are over-sensitive and don't face reality.

I doubt that the current members of Styx are losing sleep over it.

If he advertised his shows in the way you seem to claim in this post, their attorney's may cause Dennis to lose sleep over it.

He wouldn't for 3 reasons

1. They are crap songs
2. They are "pseudo Hits" in other words - in the past we needed to give JY something to play, so we'll have him play the closest things to actual songs that someone in the audience might know.
3. JY has been an asshole to Dennis - why play any of his crap?
