There are ways around being the same person on here but having different ip's. I am at work right now, and I have 2 laptops on my desk and my desktop, all with different providers and different IP's. Someone at home could have a wireless connection as well as a hard wired connection.

Just saying :)

Froy you need you head removed from out of your butt. It is following Styx, just like it is following DDY at his shows.
People can like Shaw too, JY or Gowan, which you will not see at a DDY show.
If you want to hear DDY sing his songs, go to his show.
If you want to hear Shaw sing his, go to Styx.
At both shows you get to hear someone else sing other people's songs.
But your retarded comment puts you right in the middle of the followers.

Me I follow DDY and Styx, both group for different reasons.
I respect people who like one or the other and respect those who don't like the other.
But it is hard to respect you when you make comments like you do above.
I know your a DDY fan, I don not blame you for that. I am too.
I got to met the man in person. I was was wearing a Styx shirt (for Return to Paradise tour) and told him I wear it in hounor of the last GREAT Styx tour. And it was the last great Styx tour.
His show was awesome, almost equal to the Heyday Styx shows.
But Styx current shows have not been bad, by no means. They just aren't great like they use to be. And we know why. But I will go Styx again, and DDY too.

Since DDY has added a member to his band that sings songs that TS does in Styx, it kind of makes the issue of Gowan singing DDY's Styx songs moot. Now someone could make the same argument against DDY. It appears that both sides are not bothered by it so why should the fans be? Personally I don't have a real problem with it except for the fact that Styx is re-recording the DDY material with Gowan. IMHO it would have been better to leave it alone.

This is a fairly unique situation for Styx fans; there are two acts touring playing similar set lists but all of the players have different playing styles. The suckers are the ones who refuse to enjoy both dynamics of a Styx performance. I love seeing Styx live, and I love seeing Dennis DeYoung live. Styx got smart and did something majorly different for the first time in a decade. The fall tour has me really excited, when just a few weeks ago, I was heavily favoring Dennis DeYoung's show.

Dennis DeYoung: Erie, PA August 20th
Styx: Erie, PA November 5th

The fans win all around.

Nobody wins when a band is running around with an impersonator who can't sing.
You are just a follower with no loyalty. Styx is now going to do a concert and that impersonator is going to sing 10 songs he had nothing to do with .
Wow Gowan you are really something else, I can see Shaw saying to Gowan just go and listen to the 2 cds and copy what you can.
Gowan say's OK Tommy whatever you say can I shine your shoes also?

I think it's a pretty far stretch to think that one owes a band their loyalty. I don't know any of them on a personal level. I just like their music. They aren't gonna be performing forever. Enjoy it while you can. It's like buying potato chips; Today I'm in the mood for Wise BBQ chips. Tomorrow I might feel like getting Lay's BBQ chips. It's not something to get real worked up over. If it's enjoyable, enjoy it. If two "brands" offer the same thing (Styx I, Styx II) but with a different twist, there's no reason to not enjoy both if you want to. Lawrence's voice isn't like Dennis's, but I still like it.

It could be argued that Dennis has put August in the exact situation that you described with Tommy and Lawrence. Who really cares? They all put on a fantastic show.

And nobody in a forum wins when people are saying other people are dumb and stupid because they don't thnik they same wasy you do.
Froy you have never really attached me, and most of what we do is in fun.
But your attacking the members of a band over and over is tiring.

I think calling people "suckers" that prefer one version over two is a bit much. After all, it is possible that one version just may not be something you care for. That doesn't make you a "sucker". Just because in a sense there are two versions of Styx doesn't mean that everyone is going to like them both.

From someone who lives in NYC, this venue's tickets are typically much higher than many other venues in the NY/NJ area, so I doubt it's the band dictating that price.

I'll let you all get back to the bickering...

It's the way it is. For example: a show at the Orpheum in Boston is usually more than say one at the Lowell Memorial Auditorum in Lowell, MA depite them being pretty close in distance. Major venues (of which the Beacon is one) in a major metropolitan area (like NYC is) = higher prices. When you're playing a secondary market like Evansville, IN or Bangor, ME, it stands to reason tickets are cheaper. Remember that the venue charges a fee to put the show on, so that factors into price as well. The Beacon will be more expensive.

I'm not sure what you don't understand about the economics of the way things have ALWAYS worked.
