Will Dennis, Tommy, JY and Chuck ever get up on stage again as Styx before the next member dies????

While I would like to see this happen, I'm not holding my breath. As the great Burgess Meredith said in Grumpy Old Men: "You can wish in one hand and crap in the other, and see which one gets filled first." Families and friends hold grudges for years and even decades, and JY clearly is no different. I only single out JY because he is the one who prevents a reformation from happening, and has made it clear, many times without even being asked, that he prefers Styx as it is now and claims this is their best lineup EVER...nevermind the fact that this lineup hasn't come within sniffing distance of a hit.

North and South Korea don't get along, and neither do Israel and Palestine. I don't see those grudges going away any time soon either!

When JY says "Their Best Line Up EVER" , he means for him personally. His ego could care less about anything else.

It aggravates the f*ck out of me when JY says "this is the best lineup ever". That's nonsense and he's not fooling anybody. I understand his frustration with Dennis over the years, I really do, but he needs to stop saying such ridiculous things. It's an insult to the history of the band. He knows the best lineup ended in 1983. I understand he is having fun now. Good for him. But he needs to respect what he and Dennis and Tommy and the Panozzo's created together. Because THAT is Styx. And deep down inside, he knows that.

He fooling someone alright, himself. He respects himself first and foremost. He is just as guilty of being uncompromising as Dennis was. That's just one of the problems they had. Maybe if JY was able to contribute stronger songs then he would have gotten what he wanted too.

It's one thing for Mick Jones (Foreigner, not The Clash) to say that their 2008 lineup was their best TOURING lineup...I saw them on that tour with Jason Bonham, the Lou Gramm-clone singer, and Jeff Pilson. They were stellar. I know Jones and Gramm apparently don't get along at all anymore (to the point where Jones showed up at the funerals for both of Gramm's parents just to piss him off), but I don't think Jones ever claimed that the 2008 lineup was anything other than a great touring lineup.

Of course, Foreigner doesn't really have a "classic lineup" like Styx, other than Jones and Gramm. Even so, with JY going around saying that the current lineup is their best ever (touring or otherwise), it's a bald-faced lie. The classic lineup had multiple hits, four platinum albums, and huge tours. The current lineup plays with high school orchestras, puts out albums with cover songs, and hasn't had a hit single at all.

For JY to say that is pretty lame. Maybe the best touring lineup ever (without Glenn, I don't agree), but there is nothing to substantiate that this is the most creative lineup ever. They've produced one album of NEW music (which I for one LOVED), but that doesn't erase the back catalog. If the current band would like to try and outdo the old stuff with new material, I say BRING IT ON!!! Cool. But, for JY to say that is really off the mark.

Regarding Foreigner- while I have always liked Lou Gramm's voice (from back in the day), Foreigner was and incredibly dull band live. Saw them when 4 came out and while the sound and songs were great, the band was really dull to watch. The new guy, I've heard, is a lot more of an active front guy.
I did see Lou with Foreigner with Journey, but I believe it was after his brain issues, so I really don't count that tour.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

This will happen when the river Styx freezes over. Sorry, but I just can't agree that this current version can top the legacy of the "Classic Styx" line up. I am including the efforts of ALL the members of that line up. The ship has sailed, the fat lady has sung what ever you wan to call it.

Words to live by from BabyBlue - someone who breaks into a panting sweat at the mere mention of Gowan.

G - O - W - A - N , G - O - W - A - N, G - O - W - A - N

I just don't like him. I don't reserve a special chamber of hatred in my heart for him like Froy does, but sorry, he needs to go.

Well sugar let me tell you this??? He ain't going anywhere so get over it.And that goes for your bud Froy

Peace out!

Yes, and that's unfortunate. Froy, apparently you and I are buds now. Nice to meet you. I share your dislike of Gowan, but I won't have a coronary over it.

I'm with you on this Yogi, but I don't see it happening. I think the only way it has a chance is if maybe Chuck tries to get both parties talking to each other again. I think he might be able to get Tommy and Dennis is the same room, but I just don't see JY being willing.
Thank God they documented the RTP tour. At least we have that!

Why would chuck have to get both parties talking? Something would have to happen between dennis and tommy, their would be no reason for chuck to get involved imo

Because I doubt Dennis, Tommy or JY would EVER initiate a meeting. Chuck could be the bridge that gets them together. And it was Chuck who said that it would be nice to get the band together one last time before someone else passes.
