Time For Gowan To Move On

Postby froy » Fri Sep 10, 2010 6:57 am

I really think it's time for Gowan to move on and go back to his solo career. This guy is not liked by anyone especially true STYX fans.
YouTube comments are all terrible and his singing is the reason. He has single handily ruined STYX. Everyone knows who belongs in the keyboard roll with the band and its time to get this thing going in the right direction. Im sure if Dennis joined for the GI and PO8 tour it would sell out in minuets.

What do you say Larry time to pack it in.

I don't get it.
You are slagging everything JY Tommy and Chuck.
I can't believe you would want your beloved Dennis with such a company.
Isn't Dennykins too good for that.
I mean ,would Suzanne approve?
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

And come to think of it.
If you are so desperate to get Dinkypoohs back in Styx,
Doesn't that mean he is shit by himself.

I'd love to see Dennis back with Lawrence doing keyboards/third guitar. (Dennis has said that he doesn't want to play full time keyboard anymore)

You must not have seen any of his recent shows. He's very rock & roll

Here's a recent video of Dennis doing Suite Madame Blue

Its a nice gesture but Glen would be the 3rd guitar and Chuck would go back to bass,
Steve Smith would be the drummer.

Not to mention, the title track off of One Hundred Years From now has some VERY heavy riffs and is definitely hard rock.

YES I think it's going to happen little man
From what Im hearing the fall tour is not selling well at all.
With this kind of news it should have sold out instantly instead 1000 -1500 seats being sold,
With Dennis it would be more like 5000 and up.

It looks like Gowan might be gone for good

I think Dennis has no problem with Gowan, but I somehow doubt he thinks he is, as you put it, great.

Dennis "the crooner" really hasn't made an appearance in a long time; I don't know why people are perpetuating a myth at this point. Since Dawn Marie left the band, virtually none of the Hunchback tunes are done, and he dropped the 10 on Broadway ones long before that.

Dennis proved he had one more good rock album in him (100 Years). Yes it had ballads. So did Cyclorama ("Yes I Can" as an example).

Like I've said, both bands as they exist today are more similar than they are different. This whole "Gowan ruined Styx" and "Dennis sings wimpy ballads only" shit is just ridiculous.

Ok SC than tell me why did they draw 10 and up in 96 and 97 and with Gowan from that point on without a triple bill they could not draw more than 2000 as a headliner.?

He's right - the early ticket sales on this tour have been abysmal. Go try to get tickets and you'll find you are on the 10th row on shows that have been up for sale for a while.

Amen, although it does make me wonder how he had a solo career sounding like that. However, Gowan has not ruined Styx. JY has. Gowan was just one of the tools.
