As critical as I was of the one back in February whic had its issue, this one was about as good as it gets, and arguably one of the best Styx-related shows I've seen going back to the EOTC tour. It was great to go with my Dad who had never seen any kind of Styx show before (hard to imagine, right? lol).

What is the "semi acoustic" don't let it end?

it means december couldn't handle the awesome guitar solo they just strummed acoustics over that part, therefore "semi-acoustic"

Dennis has an EXCELLENT band with great musicianship that's hard to beat. LAst night I would definitely say that Styx is going to have to up their game. I'll leave it at that for now. I'll put a few more thoughts in my review around this.
I'm seeing Styx next month. Since it's been awhile, I'm not going to comment on them as of yet.

Give it a rest in this thread, please. I know you're kidding (sort of with the wink), but I don't want this thread to become a spiral into hell. This thread is about Dennis' show.

It holds up well after all of these years. Can't say that for some tunes on that album which are very much sonically a product of their time. I still wish Dennis would do "Don't WAit For Heroes". Apparently he did it once or twice a few years back.

Dennis should do This Is The Time..

He's not opposed to it and from a song/arrangement standpoint, it'd slot in well (it's uptempo, has good harmonies, can rock it up a bit, etc.). But with the current format of the show which is more focused on Styx, it may not work. He does like the tune and maybe the bug I planted in his ear will make it happen at some point. So no time soon, but it's certainly a possibility.
Babyblue wrote:We can hope he will at some point as you say. I bet his shows are great.I may just have to check it out.

Just go with an open mind if you do. No one says you will become a heathen if you wind up liking the show. You can still love your Gowan! lol

Froy, that's delusional at best. EVen if BFA *ever* got played, it wouldn't be a show opener
"StyxCollector"
BFA wouldn't be a show opener

I think they opened with that in 76

Meh. The one I felt he should have done years ago at the orchestral shows was "Call Me" since he usually had a sax player.
