"a lot of those dennis songs that only credit dennis as the writer had large parts from jy and tommy"

And vice-versa. Ask Tommy what Renegade would have sounded like without Dennis' input????

And don't forget that Dennis pretty much produced BOTH of these albums but gave credit to Styx as the producer when in reality it was him.

Wow. Awesome. It's nice to come in here and read something different for a change...
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I have an idea lets have STYX do an entire concert of Dennis DeYoung songs
Let's just blow the entire thing up and lets do a show of only Dennis songs
Babe First Time Roboto all of them what do you say,
This way they can pretend he is still in the band just copied by Gowan

OMG............ really everyone?

When I interviewed Dennis and JY at separate times they BOTH said that MAJORITY if not ALL of the Styx songs were written together on the Grand Illusion album. As for the other albums, I'll have to find the sources to back me up before I say anything about those. We all know about the later albums.

There are only a few "true" Styx fans that understand this on here, seriously.

And that's why it is the band's best album. Along with P08. The two albums where Dennis, Tommy and JY worked brilliantly together.

I agree. It would be so cool to hear Dennis sing Castle Walls, Tommy sing Man in the Wilderness and JY sing Great White Hope
ALL in the same show. I don't think that has ever happened on the same night.

Even if Member A or Member B were listed as the sole songwriter, everyone contributed. Most bands worked that way at one point or another. Pieces of Eight was largely written the same way.

It's clear on Cornerstone everyone went away and did their own thing.

I think some of the band member's comments about song writing contributions were made from a "politically correct" stand point. If I remember correctly, a band member had said that JY was always the last to bring songs to the table for a project and even then his contributions needed the most work. So I think more credit was given to JY then what truly was the case.

Mr. JY Roboto Said: "I can't wait to hear Gowan sing those songs!!!!!!!!"

WHY??? Seriously, WHY??? Why can't you wait to hear someone who had absolutely NOTHING to do with those songs sing them?
Especially when the person who actually wrote and sang them has one of the greatest voices in rock history.
I'm just curious as to what you are thinking.
