Cool! At Governors State University in University Park IL, right in my neck of the woods. It is a nice little theatre too, seen a couple of shows there. Count me in for this show.

LOL, seriously? Not if I have to pay for a ticket. I've been seeing REO for decades, usually at the fairs or festivals. I've seen them so many times, the last time at State Fair 2 years ago. That was one of the BEST REO show's that I've ever seen and I don't think they can top that show anymore.

Are you going?

A Pre-show sounds great, some Chicago pizza restaurant sounds so good right now (even in the morning). I'll see who else is going on FB, you might remember a few people from the last time we were together :)

Me too. More and more bands are filming and putting together a little dvd/cd package for fans. Hopefully we can get one from this concert.

I would so love to go to this. See everyone again. :-) Acoustic is the only type of DDY show I have not seen.

But traveling to Chicago in February is a bit iffy. We shall see.

It is a full band, with DDY on grand piano

A rare and intimate acoustic evening of all your favorite Styx classics showcasing Dennis DeYoung on grand piano, plus two acoustic guitars/vocals and bass/vocals. Highlights of this acoustic format allows the purity of DeYoung's distinctive tenor to shine along with soaring four part harmonies, great musicianship and great songs. Don't miss this special evening.

I see that Spokane is on DDY's schedule, I don't remember him ever playing there.

Not sure why not Texas. I think Styx has been mostly a regional type band, mainly in the Midwest, IMO.

Yogi, you should come up to Chicago / Milwaukee :)

Touring Styx does, Yogi. They were just here this summer with the 3 bands thing at Cynthia Woods.

I think Dennis has likely had some research done as to where he will pull in an audience and so he gets gigs in the Midwest (of course), the East Coast, Florida, some in California and Las Vegas. The South just seems to be ruled out. Wishing that were not the case, but it seems to be.

To paraphrase DDY himself, he goes where he's invited. That said, everyone else has a point: he has certain "strongholds", mainly the Northeast, Quebec, the Midwest, and selected other places.
