How do you feel now that they are recording with Benoit David? Just curious.

This has been the story with Yes for a long time. Funny thing I loved Drama, the tour sucked.
Benoit is a fine singer. Jon seems to have slowed down after his near death experience.
This will make what the 5th or 6th YES. Jon and Rick off doing there thing YES trying a you tube singer,
Saw 1 show it was ok Onward and Drama stuff was great. Probably wont go again.
With Jon in YES 5 shows min each tour. Benoit maybe 1 ,

Drama
90125
ABWH
UNION
Benoit

No big deal it's not YES
ABWH was but the name was not there,

This is just my personal opinion, but I think the Yes guys have really wanted a reason to ditch Jon for decades. He claimed he had an illness, they believed he was either making it up or making it out to be far more serious than it was. They took the opportunity to move on by leveraging him out. He feels wronged. Each side believes it is justified in its position.

Jon's not too sick to work with Yes now, obviously. He's been out working and he's doing this thing with Rick. But they don't WANT him back. There are all the same issues here as with other bands . . . ego, money, control, ego, musical differences, ego, money, scheduling differences, and ego. And did I mention ego and money?

Hmm.... Sounds like another band I know. Funny their name escapes my right now.

Jon's your favorite singer? Wow, weird. No soul, but I do like his voice.
I LIKED Holy Lamb too.
Mothership... neat.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I am not getting any sound out of your site.

I did have an anti Beatles, anti Doors, anti Yes, anti Neil Diamond filter installed. Is this why no music is coming out of my speakers?

As Suite stated how about playing some decent stuff.

I do like a HUGE variety of music BUT, if I had a choice, I'd rather not hear.........

Doors
Pink Floyd
The Who
Rolling Stones - I'll be hearing them ALL night at bowling tonight unless I can get to the jukebox first (sigh)
Beatles
Bob Dylan
Yes
CCR
Tom Petty
The Eagles
Doobie Brothers
Aerosmith
Van Halen
Steely Dan
Billy Joel
John Cougar / John Mellencamp / John Cougar Mellencamp

and any musicians that sing about tractors

I don't have anything against this music, I just hear this music all the time on the radio, over and over throughout the years.

Wow ... throw Rush on that list and I am almost in total agreement with you! Though I do like a song or two from virtually every artist/act you named ... except Bob Dylan and Yes. Listening to either of them could make a maggot puke.

I also like a few songs from each artist, but mostly the "b" side songs, not the ones that have been over played for 20 - 40 years day after day.

As for Rush, one of my favorite bands :) I do respect your opinion of not liking them. Rush is a band that you either like or don't like, no in between.

I agree with you somewhat. It's not just the bands you are mentioning, but the fact that they play the same 5-10 songs by those bands that you mention.
The local rock station here ,if we take Pink Floyd ,they play Money,Time,Comfortably Numb and 'We don't need no education' over over and over again.Pink Floyd got so many other songs, but no.
I will only listen to the radio if there is nothing else, barely.Get an I-Pod,load it up with the songs you like ,put it on shuffle, and hey presto, your own radio station,no commercials and no shit for brains DJ's.

AMEN! I actually like at least part of every artist on that list, but I couldn't agree more that the same songs get played over and over and over and over . . . enough already. It's like with Zeppelin, I can't even listen to "Stairway To Heaven" anymore, and it used to be one of my favorite songs. Styx is the same, I have to turn it when the hits come on the radio.

I'm actually trying to find a way to take what I'm doing with Long Live Rock and do it on a terrestrial station and then expand it into a syndicated show. That would let me play music, and my format then would be to still have a long in-depth interview as the focus, but interspersed with a lot of music - including a lot of album tracks and B-sides - as well as new music by the featured artist. There just isn't anything like that out there right now. Which sucks, because I know a lot of people would be into it.

I'm not sure if you're addressing me? Or not. I don't think I said Jon is my favorite singer, but I do really like him. He's one of those guys that can only sing things he originated, otherwise it sucks. Like, I wouldn't want to hear him sing "Iron Man," for instance. Some of the stuff on the boxed sets, like when they did "I'm Down" and Page was on guitar, just blows. But his voice works well for what he does.

Here's a funny story: I was at the soundcheck for the Atlanta date of the 'Talk' tour, and they did "Purple Haze," which was absolutely hysterical with him singing it!

I loved "Holy Lamb," and it's a good example of a song that only Jon could sing with authority. If I sang it I would seem like a moron, LOL. He can pull off that kind of shit, ie "At the start of every day/A child begins to play/And all you need to know is that the future is a friend of yours and mine." I would start laughing if I tried to sing that.

Yeah, the mothership is gonna swoop down . . . I guess he's still waiting! Must've calculated the harmonic convergence incorrectly. That's easy to do!

That list above is one major reason I do not listen to any "classic" rock stations. You are right, Gr8. iPods certainly make my music experience SO much better! Years ago, when cassette tapes first came out, I was madly recording only my favorite cuts from all the albums I owned and creating my own compilations, commercial free radio station if you will, to listen to whenever I wanted to enjoy music.

I have done that ever since, through CD's and now music file players.

The real problem is that Froy must move out of the 70's. Last night he had The Eagles 'Best Of My Love' playing and in the middle of the song it had to change tracks. Half the stuff that he is playing is off of 8 Track Tape.

Bozo is dead man. Move on brother. At the very least switch from 8 track to cassette.

I officially left his station at around 10am this morning. I will be listening to Jasper,TX KJAS internet radio. They play alot of good music. They are pretty much Beattles free with alot of goo 70's,80's,90's 00's & today. www.kjas.com.

We have about 75 thousand listeners in the first month, Obviously they know good music,. You don't like The Beatles or YES and you like Gowan pretty much means you have no clue about music

The Beatles
Yes-Jon Anderson
CCR John Fogerty

Most of your list was right but what's left above I can't agree with.

The Beatles The Best Band ever - Paul George John and Ringo solo are fantastic.
Floyd Animals and The Wall awesome
The WHO live shows were like no other if you never saw em live you missed killer shows
The Doors were a band that did different shows every time out. Jim was the man
Yes and Jon Anderson way cool The Best band of musicians ever.
CCR yuke John Fogerty smokes live.

Our station is featuring only the best music period.

Bugsy

Same here Bugsy.
Still have some of my mix tapes from early 80ies.Can't believe some of the stuff I listened to.
But then of course, you just get to hear that nugget every now and then that is totally unavailable otherwise.
Our car has got a tape deck in it for some reason(with a cd player also),so I play my old tapes sometimes.
I-Tunes is a blessing also.Go on a rampage there every now and again.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.
