first off let me get this part out of the way......froy, lick my nut sack you ass wipe

now for those of you that wish to know more, then here is what I can tell you;

the ryman was packed.....crowd was energized and the band visibly fed off of this the whole night.

i have seem tommy shaw live roughly 20 times between styx and damn yankees and I dont think I have ever seen a better performance from him....especially vocally....it was flat out incredible.

the PA mix was one of the best I have ever heard at any concert (I have been to roughly 400 shows in my life).....it was loud (but not too loud), punchy and crystal clear. the highlight for me was that the guitars were up front and loud and you could literally hear every little note that was played. great mix in a great sounding room.

another highlight of the day was that I actually got to meet tommy prior to the show at gruhn's guitars while he was checking out and buying a mandolin. he was very gracious and patient with me....all in all a trip I wont forget anytime soon.

Well I'm no bathwater drinker but I agree completely. Best STYX show I've seen since DeYoung exited the picture. There was incredible energy, the mix was great, some of the best guitar work ever from Young and Shaw. Gowan had his vocals under control and sounded the best I've ever heard him. The house was packed and into it. It appears that pulling out the old material and album cuts breathed new energy into the band. Whether you agree that this band should be called STYX or not, it is a HELL of a band and they were hitting on all cylinders last night.

In my opinion they are COMPLETELY selling out by playing third leg in places that could give a rats ass about them. If they continue to do that they are 100% irrelevant complete an utter sell outs and they should quit.

Styx has arguably the best drummer in the world, and he is going to playing a 35 minute set. Give me a break. As I stated they are going from playing concerts that showcase their TRULY INCREDIBLE talents to playing venues where no one cares.

At their ages they have got to know this is a HORRIBLE business decision. They should ride their current tour a minimum of 8 months. Let the reviews fall where they may. Cut some new music and see what happens.

There are alot of REALLY great new bands out now. They vocally driven bands much like Styx. They could hit in some way again. But not by playing third tier on the ice cream stage at some Eurofest show.
