This is just wrong... Right fellow metal heads? Styx is all about hard rock and heavy metal. Why would one of its members be putting out this pussy music?

Well yeah, and Desert Moon and The Hunchback was Dennis' answer to "Master of Puppets"?
Tommy has ALWAYS leaned toward a country vibe. The dude's from ALABAMA for cryin out loud. There's gonna be a bit of that in there. Personally, the stuff I've heard doesn't grab me. But I can respect the playing and musicianship, it's just not my thing. Maybe I'll hear more that I like. Just like Dennis, Tommy can do whatever he wants out of the scope of Styx. God knows that Styx can't seem to get of their asses and do anything new, so at least Tommy's doing something different.
Oh wait, I forgot- It's MY fault that the band isn't doing anything new because I have an iPod...

Interesting. Styx as group says that they don't release new music because it's not cost effective, yet one of it's members seems to find a way to do it for himself. Seems like Styx' answer to why they are not producing new music (i.e. a whole album) is just just an excuse for another reason.

The band has never been honest they just spin everything in there favor. On the front page they say they are doing shows with Foreigner and Journey fact is they are the opening act, Just another example of Styxaganda

That's because JY thinks Styx' relevance in the classic rock circuit is bigger then it actually is.

you know in fact.....he is so good that there are times you have to sort of pause for a second to make sure it's him and not steve perry!!!! considering how great Perry was to find a clone that capable is amazing.
the same thing could be said about kelly hansen singing for foreigner....he is about as close to being a true lou gramm clone as you will hear.....he does not back down from ANY of the notes Lou hit on the original albums when they perform live and I have seen them with kelly three times now and it has always been fantastic.

Bottom line all 3 are cover bands. If you were not around for the original enjoy and pretend all you want.

froy you are right...for the most part they are "cover" bands.....but all three of them still have original elements or elements from their heyday. I was born in 1970 and I have a brother that is nine years older than me so I remember all of those original albums coming into the house and I grew up on that music....however, I was really too young to see these bands live back in the day.
i saw the styx reunion tour in 1996 and 1997 several times and that was ultra cool for me to say the least. nowadays I can go enjoy these bands because I love these songs....i'm not pretending about anything...i know more about the histories of these bands than alot of folks as far as who wrote the songs, how it was recored etc...... but that does not stop me from enjoying seeing the current version of the "cover" bands out touring now....i prefer the original but will take what I can get.
