Postby S2M » Fri Dec 24, 2010 11:00 am

Ok folks let's hear 'em, and don't censor anything. Be civil, and no mention of Friga's sexual orientation! Oh wait, his biggest fan is on extended sabbatical....

Styx - if you aren't gonna get back with Dennis, or put out a quality album, please call it a day...thanks so much.

Unfortunately...Kansas. Last I heard, Steve Walsh didn't care to do any new material and, with Kerry Livgren most likely not writing any material for Kansas, either, they will probably never do any new music again.

Exactly...There's no way they should have ever associated the album title with one of the best albums of the 80s, in my opinion. "Pride" is still one of my favorite albums, certainly so in the hair band genre.

Wouldn't make a difference. Sure they wouldn't have to do the triple bills but that's about it. Besides it's been made clear that they want nothing to do with him again.

There is definitely no White Lion without Vito Bratta.

It's more of a case of being a big fan of Vito.

I was actually watching a recent clip of the band playing "Wait." He's a capable player, but I didn't like his tinkering with that solo. That solo is such a perfect piece of music and my preference would be to hear it note for note.

Forget the ifs and buts behind it, but the last album sold a very respectable amount for an older band, and they did pretty good on the last tour playing large coliseums--and I don't think Night Ranger was selling very many tickets. The last time Night Ranger played around here, it was a free show. You may choose "not relevant" if you like, but you are far from done as a band if you can sell a platinum album without radio play and fill 15-20k seat venues without being part of a big double or triple bill package.

on the subject of "done"...

Survivor...no Peterik, no Jamison, no Bickler, a singer who only remotely sounds like either of the previous singers, basically no live shows, and very little hope of an album being released. Even the small fanbase they have is getting very restless.

Gotthard....???  Lots of potential money at stake, selling more albums now than they were before Steve Lee's accident, and a built in audience that could be willing accept a new singer under the circumstances, but will they choose to replace someone who is not replaceable? Difficult decision that could go either way.

INXS. They can rotate all the frontmen/singers they want but there is only one Hutch. He had that IT factor, and a sensual side he wasn't afraid to show on stage. Irreplaceable.

Have to agree, I thought Ian would have been a good fit for the doors, but guess not. He should go back to The Cult, love their stuff...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hzrWn07JKE
