It's going to be awhile. They have to have JY go into the studio and over dub his vocals with the use of AutoTune.

I don't want to talk out of turn, but I don't think they would have bothered filming it unless he had already given his permissions. That's my understanding of it, at least, though it's officially unconfirmed at this time.

AutoTune isn't the problem... He's in tune, but his voice is thrashed. A.T. won't help that. Re-cutting the vocals is all that can be done.

I look at it this way. One with Everything with CYO took roughly 6 months from it's filming till it's actual DVD release. So, we have a couple of months before wondering where it's at.

i'm guessing that it will be a fall release. it's perfect as a stocking stuffer. and there is talk of a full 2012 GI/PO8 tour, so this would be a good opportunity to create a buzz... who knows.

We have heard about it though... like Mr JY Roboto said. I was merely letting all the people "who actually care" know my thoughts on the matter and a loose timeline to follow. DeYoung can't stop the release.

Sigh. We've been down this road. Yes he can stop it (see the million threads where we've talked about how sync'ing video to audio is problematic and getting rights). This has nothing to do with band politics, but how things work legally. I swear people here have short memories.

That said, as far as I know he won't stop this one. So if it comes out, DDY did approve the use of his songs and he'll get his appropriate cut of this since they're using his songs.

This makes the most sense of all the various guesses out there.

You are 100% wrong. They do need his permission

Ahh, but what I said was not incorrect. I said he couldn't stop the release, and I'm right. He could only have the songs that he wrote not appear on the release. That was my only point. Not to get into or start a debate about copyright law.

I don't know bands fail to recognize that fans want official concert DVDs from back in the day. We want a GI show from the 70s, and a Po8 show from back then....fuck! Is this so tough to grasp? Same with Journey and ROR, or Evolution, Departure, and Infinity.

So what would be the effing point of a GI/Po8 DVD with about half (or more) of the songs missing? There is none. So for this particular release, they needed DDY's approval. They have certainly released stuff before w/o DDY tunes that he needed to sign off on (Arch Allies, CYO, etc.). So for this release, it's a whole different ballgame.

Think about it. They're not idiots. They wouldn't have invested the money if they didn't have the clearances to release it.

They will release it with Denny's compositions intact. It simply wouldn't make any sense to release a live DVD of these 2 albums with half of the material missing.

One With Everything was a different animal. They were approached by the CYO to do a DVD. In that case they kept it simple and didn't include Denny's compositions
