Instead, that same night I choose to go see Shinedown for $ 10.00. They were doing a benefit concert fot The Shreveport Fire Department. They played the entire Sound Of Madness Album along with a bunch of their other earlier material that at the time I was not familiar with.Best band going. I can not state how great their Sound Of Madness CD is. They are TREMENDOUS!!
I would really like to go see Styx but not if they are playing the same set they always play. I would have driven 10 hours to see their Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight show.
I am thinking. I need to know their set list., Why are they not continuing to do their Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight tour??? Alone, their attendance will be the same anyway( 800-2,200 depending where in the country they are playing).
yogi wrote:If I were to go and see Styx Saturday night in Ft.Worth at Billy Bobs what is the set they are currently playing?
If it is loaded with Pieces Of Eight/Grand Illusion songs I may break down and go. If it is their same tired confetti driven greatest hits type of show I will stay home and watch my TIVO recorded Godaddy.com bowl between Middle Tennesse State & Miami Ohio.
Set list please

First off there is no way they could follow up that album'Sound Of Madness'. IMPOSSIBLE. The album is PERFECT. Like your children, it is my childrens favorite album. My daughter has downloaded the videos to her Ipod touch, and knows every word to every song. And my 8 year son probably likes the album even more. He has started to learn to play guitar and he knows the opening riffs to the song Sound Of Madness. In My Opinion it is one of the GREATEST rock albums EVER, if not the best.
As for seeing Styx this Saturday what makes it hard for me is they came up with one of the greatest ideas ever for a concert and then only play it at a select few venues. This was the show that I truly wanted to see. With or without DDY their concept for the Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight tour was excellent.
Now should I travel 3.5 hours to see a show that I have seen a dozen times before? Add to this they are playing a bar so we would have to get a babysitter plus the show doesnt even start until 10:30pm. It is a no brainer if I like the set. I will go. If the set consists of only their hits I will stay home.
So can anyone tell me their current set list???
yogi wrote:What is a short term show? This sounds like they are practicing upfor their 25minute UK set. Who on earth is Charile?
For us it would be 3.5 hours drive one way. So if it is a 25 minute short term show we could leave at 7pm arrive at 10:30pm ( fight the crowd... ha ha ha) then leave by 10:55pm get to our car by 11:15pm and be home by 3:00 am. If they play longer, say 1 hour we would be home by 4:00am.
See what we are up against????

The NFL called. They want you to pay a royalty and fine for putting the words Super Bowl (TM) in this post.
