I thought they were doing the GI/PO8 tour still, with a few extra songs for an encore.

First off there is no way they could follow up that album'Sound Of Madness'. IMPOSSIBLE. The album is PERFECT. Like your children, it is my childrens favorite album. My daughter has downloaded the videos to her Ipod touch, and knows every word to every song. And my 8 year son probably likes the album even more. He has started to learn to play guitar and he knows the opening riffs to the song Sound Of Madness. In My Opinion it is one of the GREATEST rock albums EVER, if not the best.

As for seeing Styx this Saturday what makes it hard for me is they came up with one of the greatest ideas ever for a concert and then only play it at a select few venues. This was the show that I truly wanted to see. With or without DDY their concept for the Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight tour was excellent.

Now should I travel 3.5 hours to see a show that I have seen a dozen times before? Add to this they are playing a bar so we would have to get a babysitter plus the show doesnt even start until 10:30pm. It is a no brainer if I like the set. I will go. If the set consists of only their hits I will stay home.

So can anyone tell me their current set list???

3.5 hours away and having to get a babysitter, that's a whole different story.

We are kind of in the same situation tonight (kind of). My kids were suppose to sleep over tonight at their friends house and one of my kids friends cancelled due to being sick. So my husband is staying home and I'm going to the show tonight meeting up with friends.
Tonight's show means more to me than him and it's only 30 minutes away.

I'm seeing Kip Winger tonight in a bar and the show doesn't start until after 10pm.

What has it come to?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

It's come to a band that only plays the same set list over and over, can't or doesn't want to create new music and hired a singer that can't sing some the bands best known songs.

Yogs, you can always plan a family trip to Europe and catch them as third bill on the Journey show. Maybe they won't have time to shoot off the confetti cannons.

That's a great set, hopefully they will stick with something like this for awhile instead of the standard greatest hits show. Heck take out "Lady" and put in "One With Everything" and maybe "Criminal Mind" and it would be almost perfect.

Still waiting on babysitter #2. Babysitter #1 is in San Antonio watching our linebacker play in The US Army All American Bowl game. Our West team just lost 13-10.

We want to pull out by 6:00 or 6:30pm. Flip a coin whether or not we go. If so I will be wearing my Sparky The Flying Dog autographed DDY T shirt. I will have a Styx Cyclorama T underneath. My wife will be the one acting embarassed as hell for me dragging her to ANOTHER butts & guts concert. I just tell her that she is' too preoccupied with 1985'. Or maybe I am.

Still, All is GREAT with both Styx &DDY.

Rejoice and find us a babysitter!!!!!

You think that I would trust Froy in my house with my children??

I would probably get home and he would be trying to sell White Castle Burgers out of our living room window. If you purchase 20 you get some free bootleg casette recording of a Beatles concert that he dubbed off his old Sounddesign stereo.

They have always put on a professional show and are great musicians. Personally, Styx without DDY just doesn't interest me at this point. What attracted me to this band is gone. I think it's sad that they have not produced substantial new music, after all they have the name behind them and Dennis does not. Even he has found a way to put out an album of all new material. It seems to me he did it for the fans and wasn't concerned about how much it would sell to the masses. The current Styx should be doing something like that for their fans and one new song on a EP of rerecords doesn't cut it.

We missed the show.

We were sharing a babysitter with some friends of ours who also were going to the concert, we were on our way to Ft.Worth(we were going to spend the night) when the babysitter called and said that they had changed the weather forcast. There was a 40% chance of snow by 2am and a 90% by 9am. We were on the other side of Tyler when she called(almost to Canton) it was 8pm so with all the kids at home freaking out about the snow and we couldnt risk it so we turned around and drove home.

For those of you who went I hope you had a GREAT time. I am TRULY sorry that we missed it.

It is now 7:30 am - NO snow but they now say we have a 100% chance of snow by noon today.

I would also like to thank Froy for coming all this way to babysit. We hope that we payed you enough. My daughter meant nothing by the comment 'she didnt know people like you still existed'. Also Froy, we moved our dog for your safety. My sons comment of we didnt trust you around our dog that it was too much of a temptation was incorrect. He misunderstood what we had said. He is young so please cut him so slack. Thanks again brother!!
