I now understand DDY vs LG and the refusal to accept LG

I now see how some of you older guys feel about Dennis DeYoung vs Lawrence Gowan. I would NEVER see Kamelot without Khan singing. Rumor is that Khan "found god" and the band is using "temporary medical issues" in their releases to stall the inevitable. I really hope that's just a rumor and that Khan will be back. Their new singer seems like such a dork. It's hard to take seriously a guy singing about romance, vanity, sophistication, etc when he looks like they found him at a Star Wars convention. The way he shouts " CENTER...OF....THE...UNIVERSE..." just doesn't fit Kamelot at all.

Out of all the other bands that have changed singers, at one time or another, it took Kamelot to get you to understand others' feelings about this? Ok. :?

I didn't grow up listening to the other bands. I don't give a shit about Journey because I was six years old the last time Steve Perry was with them. I didn't give a shit about Styx because I was nine years old the last time DDY was with them. Kamelot was one of the first bands I really got into, so I "grew up" with them. Styx, Journey, Foreigner, etc, not so much. I like them, but their heyday was way before my time.

I thought it was a lyric that Dennis used in Borrowed Time or Boomchild. One of the two.

You guys have been missing out (and have really missed out if Khan doesn't return)

Here's one of my favorite songs by them: Elizabeth

In an effort to try to keep this form spiraling downhill fast like so many other threads here do, I'll offer this:

Khan is one of the best vocalists out there. He has great range, is very clear, has incredible stage presence, and is a superb entertainer. Discuss.

More great footage

Also, the "One Cold Winter's Night" DVD that the Elizabeth footage is from is one of the best concert DVDs out there. I highly recommend it.

For versatility, here's a bootleg unedited video of him doing great clean singing and countering it with some great growl singing, then going back to clean throughout the song. The Great Pandemonium

He really needs to return to Kamelot soon.
