Are you gonna post a review of regeneration or is it already listed on your site?

I wrote it. Never posted it. Not sure I should.

Interesting. I would think that the band members have enough backbone to look at a review that is positive, negative or in between. If they don't by now then they never will and are in the wrong business if they can't. Just because someone is a fan doesn't mean that they have to be positive or politically correct about every project a band does. Just be honest about your viewpoint. Since you are pondering about posting it, then it leads me to believe that it's not a very favorable review. Quoting from "Double Life", "Honesty is the Best Policy".

I think people should know me by now and know I have no problem stating my opinion. I'm just not sure what I have to say at this point adds anything to the mix. It's not a cop out, I'm just over it all.

I never did wind up hearing this other than on YouTube. But I kinda felt like, why try to review a product that is re-recordings, and only available at shows (at the time)? I didn't think it made sense to try to review it, any more than I ever review Greatest Hits packages. It's not a "new" album in the traditional sense. The people that support this lineup are gonna like it, and the people that don't are gonna hate it, and nothing that can be said or written will change that one iota. So fuck it, why put yourself in the line of fire, is kinda my feeling.
Also quoting from "Double Life" - "It's not always honesty that is the best policy," LOL.
That said, I'm not disparaging this album because I've never even heard it.

they really didn't change enough of the songs here to make this a Must Have. i would have liked some different interpretations, like the bluesy version of BCM on BBT. Maybe they will include the original slowed down, dirgy renegade on the next one.

This is why I felt this EP is a waste of time. Why put out something out that basically is not much different from the originals. It would have made more sense if they changed the arrangements and put a different spin on the songs. To me it just like yet another live recording. God knows we really don't need more of that from this band.

The reason Styx and other bands are re-recording their songs is because it gives them the ability to license the re-recordings without having to share the royalties. For Styx, it also gives them the ability to license versions with the way the band sounds now.

That may be the case but from a fan perspective it's pointless. Just my .02

That almost sounds like it was directly from the bands' press agent.

Baron,
Digging your user name. I am a huge Saigon Kick fan. Got everything they put out. They should have been huge. Saw them twice on the Lizard tour. Wow they were great. Missed out on getting Jason's solo disc though, too bad.
