I have never met her, but I don't see why it matters. I bet she puts her shoes on one at a time and has good days and bad days just like the rest of us.

Even if she is controlling, why do you care? The business of Styx keeps running and has for the past 10 years. Although it would be ironic considering the bad rap Suzanne has received over the years.

I don't get the obsession with things like this.

I didn't get it either, what does it matter if she is or not? It's an irrelevent question

Sure seems like the DeYoung haters always decided to make a big deal out of Suzanne. Did you also call them out? Or did you turn a blind eye toward that?

To be fair, they are sometimes a part of a band's dynamics. Clearly someone felt that way when they produced Styx's Behind the Music episode. I remember seeing Jeanne putting her .02 on band issues. I was thinking to myself, who gives a crap what you think since you weren't there for it anyway.

Just to clarify this point, yes, in the book Glen makes a reference to wives having more power in the band than some of the musicians, and yes, there were some people I spoke to off the record that felt the same way. But that's not the same thing as saying she's not a nice person.

The thing with wives is pretty much a universal part of the equation in rock bands. As someone noted, it was much the same when Dennis was in the principal position in the band. His wife was his chief adviser and had his ear, naturally, and the other musicians in the band resented that, naturally. Same with the Beatles. And Aerosmith. And so on and so on and so on and on and on. Same way it is with Tommy (and JY) now. No big surprise there.

That's just the way it is. It's that way in every band on the planet, even the ones that don't have any success. I've been in bands where guys got in actual fist fights over differences between their wives that had nothing to do with the band itself. It's difficult at times.

That said, I've never met Jeanne, and it does seem to me like Styx' employees like her . . . even the ones who feel she has too much influence over Tommy and therefore, the band. So I don't want anyone to use what someone said in an interview for my book as a means to cast aspersions on her, because that's not how it was intended.

Thanks, I hope everyone is well.

I met her a couple of times a few years ago actually before she and Tommy got married when she was touring more with him. She was very nice, the important thing is that she is a great wife to Tommy and gives him haircuts lol. They seem to be very happy together which is great. I would find it very hard to have a husband gone away from home more than hes home.

Even "This is Spinal Tap" addressed the "interfering" girlfriend/wife. A common phenomenon with bands, then and now, no doubt.

If I recall correctly, she is just as involved in band decisions or whatever you wanna call them as Suzanne supposedly was. I just read Sterling's book... good stuff.

But, I bet most wives are somewhat involved in band that their husbands are in... how could they not be. It's probably pretty normal.
