DDY Setlist

For the people who have attended a recent show, does he currently play much from One Hundred Years From Now? Crossing the Rubicon would be a great song to hear live. Also, it'd be nice if Dennis recorded another CD/DVD from his live show.

No. Sometimes he does a song (usually the title track) at Canadian shows, but usually he plays nothing. Rubicon was played maybe a handful of times at most a few years ago.

In Wisconsin he has played "Save Me", "Rain" and the title track. It depends where he plays, he'll throw one in here and there. I think last year was the last time I heard one of them live.

I saw him twice and the only solo song he did was Desert Moon. I screamed til my throat caught fire for 100 Years from Now! :x

It's a great album, I'm surprised he doesn't play it more often. I think I read somewhere that Crossing the Rubicon was his favorite off of the album.

I think right now Dennis is focusing on playing a Styx Greatest hits show with maybe Desert Moon added in.
I'm seeing him Saturday. I'll post the setlist when I get back in town next week.

The last time I saw any track from that album was in Winter of 2010 at the RI show. He did the title track.

ya know.......i freaking love dennis........but his solo stuff has really been hit or miss for me. then i got all revved up for 100 years and the "return to classic styx" and frankly i think the album sucks. crossing the rubicon is a great song but the rest of it is almost painful for me to listen too.......and i swear to god that I'm not throwing this out there to pick a fight.....it actually bothers me that 100 years never got a hold of me......i have tried to listen to it several times and i just cant get into it....... :(

I don't like every song, but the album has enough really good ones to make it good as a whole. The title track, This Time Next Year, Rain, Crossing the Rubicon, I Don't Believe in Anything, Private Jones, Breathe Again and Turn off CNN are the really good tracks I speak of. That leaves only 4 that I skip. An album that's 66% great... I can live with that. Plus, I am not saying the 4 are bad. It's too bad that it didn't really catch your ear.

I've heard him do "This Time Next Year" live a few years ago :D

Almost impossible to believe , You need to put on the head phones light up and give it a pass all the way through.

100 years is the best Styx CD I've heard in decades.

Kidding aside, the core songs with a few TS songs would have made a kick ass Styx CD. Wish it would have been.

To me it's a great album. Sure it has some songs that are not going to make you sit up and take notice but, I would say it's one of, if not the best solo effort he has done. At least it is a album of new material compared to his former band mates who seem content on rehashing and rehashing their back catalog.

I really like 100 Years. There are a few tracks on there that I care for less than others, but by enlarge it's a great CD.

I still think that in his heart of hearts, Dennis misses the Yin/Yang of Tommy Shaw. Tommy and Dennis brought out the best in each other. To hear those two collaborate and write a record and not call it Styx I think would be the most positive thing they could ever do. They could just concentrate on writing good music and leave the baggage of everything else behind.

Of course, it'll never happen. But as a friend of mine just recently told me --- it's ok to fantasize.
