I got it the day it came out. We used to crank it on the Boom Box at lunch time in high school. We played Snowblind and Half Penny
Over and Over and Over again! Everyone hung out at our lockers! 1981 was a good year to be in High School.

I remember listening to WLUP "The Loop" and WMET "The Mighty Met" here in Chicago as a kid, and they played this album a lot 8)

The sad part is were not going to see a special deluxe remastered edition from A&M\UNI to mark it's anniversary.

Nope and what sucks even more is that the SHM-CD of PT is taken from old masters, so it has no improvement in quality.

But credit where credit is due.Gowan made Dennis realize it was time to wake up and smell the coffee.Dennis replaced his
band and he can now be exciting to watch again on occasion. He even has an attempt on heavy keyboard intros just like Larry.
Even his new guitar player all of a sudden sounds like a cross between Tommy and Gowan.
Thanks Gow.

August sounds nothing like Gowan but a lot like Tommy. And Dennis' show is always exciting. It's the best Styx show on the planet these days.

It had nothing to do with Gowan at all. He even stated the reason he has started to play keys again is because it's something he knew the fans missed. Nice try though.

I think Dennis thinks about Gowan about as much as, oh, an ant in his back yard.

Back to topic. This album, while really good, falls to 4th on my favorites list behind Equinox, Pieces of Eight, and Grand Illusion.

But it does have one of Dennis' finest compositions, in my view - Lonely People. It's just a shame that he threw in that long, hard-to-hear, unnecessary intro as part of the track.

Paradise Theater, Foreigner 4, Escape, and Hi Infidelity all hit with 18 months of each other and pretty much all are thought to be each group's best efforts when looking at their careers and the AOR genre as a whole.

Funny thing is that Paradise Theater is probably my least favorite Styx album from the A&M era; I really like even Kilroy Was Here a lot more than PT
