Parfait is funny like Dean, it's just that not everyone here is intelligent enough to grasp his type of humor.

Parfait seems to to be pretty decent person, it just really bugs me when he turns every thread into a huge philosophical argument and tries to shove his views down everybody's throat. It's obvious he's extremely intelligent, just don't rub our noses in it.

Let me ask you a question....seriously. If saw a child(say age 10) trying to shoot a hockey puck, and the kid was holding both hands very low on the stick, making him miss terribly - wouldn't you assist the kid in the right way to hold a hockey stick, or would you feel that that was shoving your views down his throat?

When someone is doing(or believing) something that isn't true, or is wrong...I feel that it is MY duty to set them straight....and that's what Parfait is doing. Now his tone is usually such that it gets the point across better, without tip-toeing around in a childish fashion....he's not very PC, if at all.

Next time he seems to be shoving something down your throat, feel free to hit him with your purse.....

Hmmm....I believe it is the religious who live their lives preachng hoiler than thou. Their message is repent or live an eternity in hell. The chosen(holier) are destined for heaven. If that don't smack of holier than thou, then I don't know what does.....

I don't ever preach on here or expect anyone to believe things my way. I have no problem with anyone having opposing views.

S2M seriously don't you have anything else better to talk about? I mean seriously this horse is so dead the blow flies won't touch it.

Parfait is fine. We have differing opinions and that is fine. That was my point Church Lady. Don't get your choir robe in a bunch.

That was a legal hit....talk about turning into a hit....his head was SIDEWAYS.....the hit on Paccioretty was worse than that. Matt Cooke's headshot on Savard was worse than that. Just happened at the wrong part of the glass(it didn't 'give')....another example of the refs looking at the result of the hit - rather than the actual hit itself....and he came back in 2 minutes later! and that goalie interference on Price was academy award winning quality right there....he was OUTSIDE the crease. He initiated contact with Bergeron. Pitiful....

Far as I'm concerned Dean and Parfait have the same problem when I read posts from them....ego and arrogance.
I'll laugh at both and agree with some things each say until their inflated image of themselves come into play.

I dont give a shit either way but you got dean over here who can insult someone to the core and when someone else gives shit back to him then the devil has shown his face. I know hes the leader of your "in-crowd" but dont yall think he can take care of himself? Theres not a fucking restraining order prohibiting him from posting is there??? Holy shit.

That's the whole point, hon - he isn't posting, and until he is, it just isn't right to throw shit at him - especially personal stuff. When he's here, do your damndest, but don't do it to someone who isn't around to defend themselves. That's true for everyone, not just Dean. I've asked people to lay off Stevie-Woo when the shit has piled on and he's been in Andrew's bad books, I've asked people to lay off you when you weren't posting, and hell, I can't stand the woman, but when people start in on Phyllis, I've asked people to lay off her too because she's been banned from posting here and she can't defend herself (well, I've begged that no one say her name three times, but that's the reason why). I sure as hell don't want her to be posting here again, but that still doesn't make it right to pile in on someone who isn't here to defend herself.

When Phyllis pulled up my mother's death to use in a fight, Angel was good enough to jump in and say it was unacceptable to use someone's personal issues like that, and I appreciate that she did so. I don't like the way Dean talks to Angel, I don't like a lot of the language he uses to describe women, and the few times I've seen him do it to someone who doesn't seem able to take it or hold their own, I've told him to can it - publically and privately. Angel can take care of herself, and gives as good as she gets. Moreover, while Dean's language gets foul, and his insults can be pretty near the bone, there are a lot of personal things about Angel, me, you, and no doubt half the other posters on this board that he could use against us, and he doesn't.

Dean makes light of his own demons, at times he's even boasted about them, but it doesn't give anyone else the right to use them against him. It's right up there with using the death of his baby against him - uncalled for and cruel.

While I'm up here on my high horse, can we lay off Parfait and the peeing stuff? The joke died a long time ago, and it's really the same kind of thing. A stupid personal confidence made public while he was still trying to figure out the dynamics of the board shouldn't be held against someone forever. Yeah, yeah, I know - I guess I'm in mother hen mode.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

His opinions are as worthless as religious people. He's only trying to shove his opinions, which you happen to agree with , down people's throat.. Which makes him as bad as religious people , if not worse . I would tell you to stop drinking from his golden fountain of knowledge , but then You would accuse me of trying to shove my opinion down your yellow throat ;)

Ari,

That was well-put post and I had a reply and I backed up over it because really, there's no point. It's just all going in circles and there's a lot of everyone thinking they know what's right and what's true and what's fair to whom, and this and that, and the replies are so predictable it's creepy at this point, and no one is going to change their opinions or consider that they just might not have all the info, or anything else. But I will say this: whatever his reason is for not posting, for leaving or whatever, it's his business and this whole thing basically boils down to talking behind his back, whether he's reading it or not. And that's not right.

I just read through the whole of this thread.

I had no idea Deano was experiencing problems and I still have no idea what they are.

I know Lula hasn't posted for a while, so I can make assumptions from that, especially when she has felt the need to come in here and comment.

So, as a "Euro" who has been insulted and had the piss taken out of me by Deano as much as anyone, I really miss his posts on here.
His posts are one of the reasons I keep popping in from time to time.
Back in the days of Tapegate, this place was a must.
Mainly because of the debate Deano set off.
And when he isn't posting, this board isn't quite the same.

Whatever your personal 'issues' are, Dean, I wish you and yours all the best.

So just get your arse back in here and get posting again.
