STYX To Continue Tour Without Dennis DeYoung
Rock Hard
Posted on Thursday, April 28, 1999 at 20:52:41 EST

In response to questions about keyboardist Dennis Deyoung and Styx's upcoming performance schedule, the band released the following statement today:

"Our support for Dennis is absolute. He is, and will remain, a member of Styx. Although he will be absent from upcoming shows for the time being, we very much look forward to his healthy return. In the meantime, we will keep our commitment to our fans and continue our tour."

As much as I can't stand Bon Jovi you gotta give them credit for not screwing around with their brand,
I obviously changed the Press release to show what Shaw and Young should have done. Instead the entire train is derailed
Thanks Tommy JY and Chuck you sand baggers

Saying something in the press does not make it true. If Richie does not get better he will be gone just like Alex. Secondly, you have to have a tour scheduled to put that type of release out and Dennis was unwilling to allow a tour to be scheduled.

wow, what's up with Richie? GREAT player, love his style. Is he at the bottom of a bottle again?
Alex was gone because Alex shot his mouth off about different band extra curricular activities.

Rehab again. Alex also had issues with too much partying and not learning his parts. Richie was playing his parts in the studio and David Bryan was helping fill out his parts live.

Not the same thing. Bon Jovi was actively touring with tour dates already scheduled that costs them huge money to cancel let alone the lost revenue.

Styx has nothing invested and nothing planned. They did not even have holds on venues. For Styx or any other artist to schedule a tour with a temporary fill-in for one of their primary members wouldn't happen. You wait or permanently replace that member.[/i]
