Holy Crap, you don't know who originally did Ruby Tuesday???
No surprise you like REO.

Man, Glenn really SHOULD have kicked your ass -- for not knowing that.

;)

Wow, interesting set list for sure, especially when compared to what normally is played.
This must've been with Yes? They're definitely going for a more 'prog' vibe than 'just the hits'.
Cool.

16 songs... man, I'd LOVE to be able to play a set that short.

The Stones are cool, but instead of covering them, it'd be cool to have one of the old Wooden Nickel tracks in for fun (other than Lady). Midnight Ride, Mademoiselle would also be cool. Wonder why they don't do Mademoiselle?

Take ten seconds and google the words Ruby Tuesday Song. Just look at the first five entries. Chances are, with in that ten seconds you just used, you will find the answer.

It bothers me a bit for some reason that they perform Castle Walls, I'm OK and Queen of Spades. Those are probably 3 outta 5 of my absolute favorite DDY songs and it doesn't seem right when Gowan does those. They should have him just do the more known ones. I can stomach Lady and CSA, they're overplayed anyways... but leave those alone. And please don't do Pieces of Eight.

Nothing from Cyclorama...what a complete and utter joke this band has become. Larry Gowan riding the coattails of a better singer/musician, and not really caring.....

It ain't Larry's fault.

But yeah- Some Cyclo besides OWE would be cool. "Do Things My Way" would be a good one... that's a rocking song.

Wishing they didn't sing ANY DDY lead vocal songs, but it is what it is. They have to acknowledge the master, I suppose ... just not in name.

What Larry cares about is the personal exposure he is getting by being in a band that people know who it is. The reality is he would never get this much exposure in the states just by himself. Before being offered the Styx gig, Larry was just one of many Canadian artists that were going nowhere outside of Canada.

And he certainly is not going to make any waves about what the band is doing. Certainly a more steady paycheck then is own career was bringing him.

And why is this bad? He's a musician. That's his job. If Styx couldn't hold it together with DeYoung, it's not Gowan's problem. His job is to go out and perform every night. He's done that and made a few fans along the way. Why people slam Gowan is beyond me. To critique his voice is one thing, but to slam him for actually getting out there and working every night, or somehow sticking it to Dennis is silly. Next we'll be blaming Todd for John's death...

"brywool

And he certainly is not going to make any waves about what the band is doing. Certainly a more steady paycheck then is own career was bringing him.

And why is this bad?

Because He is copying that's why it's bad.

He's a musician.

So was Tinny Tim

That's his job.

No being a solo artist is his job not ruining the legacy of STYX.

If Styx couldn't hold it together with DeYoung,

Dennis is a key part of the STYX brand if they can't hold it together their is no STYX and no brand.

it's not Gowan's problem.

No he can just leach off another musicians work that's a guy with no morals.
Did you know that Steven Tyler was offered the lead singer job for Led Zeppelin? Did you know why he did not take it?
Because he said I could not do that to Robert Plant or Zep and Aerosmith fans. Gowan said yippie I can leach off of Dennis and Styx fans and make some cash .That's BS No Morals That's the easy way out

His job is to go out and perform every night.

Fine go out and perform every-night and sing his own stuff, I forgot nobody would buy his act every-night if it was his own music.

He's done that and made a few fans along the way.

Yea 3

Why people slam Gowan is beyond me.

Not surprising you copy Styx and Paul with your little cover band so you think it's just fine to make a buck off of someone elses work . To you it's another day at the office. Put Brywool on the marque next time and see how many people show up to the beef and bowl. Answer 0 Same with Gowan

To critique his voice is one thing,

yea one horrific thing

but to slam him for actually getting out there and working every night

Working ? Sitting there playing Dennis samples is working? Spinning his keyboards around for 11 years is working?
That's leaching.
