VERY cool.
Yes, that IS Classic Styx.
One thing I find interesting is that John's tempos varied quite a bit.

He looks much better with a beard. Most guys look like crap with them. It added to his look and gave him a bit more swagger. Without it, eh, not so much.
The clothes that he and Tommy have though- whoa....!

Dennis, you can see your pantie lines dude!
;)

It's amazing how much better they are in this show than compared to the 1976 one that was posted the other day.

Note that in most of the harmonies that JY is the high guy. He had a super high and big powerful head voice.

Interesting to hear Man in the Wilderness from that year. This is the only recording of it I've ever heard (or seen) other than the one released a few years ago. Pretty cool.

Fun to see the changes from 1976 to 1978.

Better stage clothes, for sure. I like JY's ensemble.

They are so much tighter and together as a band and, of course, had two albums under their belt by then with Tommy in the band, in addition to many more live performances. It really shows.

SMB: Guitars are in tune on this one!

DDY, despite those unfortunate outfits, was just badass looking back then. Really charismatic onstage and darkly handsome. Nice contrast to the blondes.

I enjoyed this concert a lot and SO wish Dennis would put "Born for Adventure" into his shows, but it is not going to happen.
