Slave Lake, Alberta Fire Please help if you can!

Postby Jodes » Tue May 17, 2011 4:07 am

I said I would not come back to this forum but since my account was not deleted, I feel news of this tragedy needs to be out there. I know I don't usually ask for help guys/gals, but this is a very serious situation that is happening in my home province of Alberta. Many of my friends and family have been affected.

I will not be posting anything else in any other topics after this.

Wildfires have pretty much destroyed 40% of the city of Slave Lake, Alberta.

Thousands have been evacuated and the damage is insurmountable.

If you can help in anyway, please donate to the Canadian Red Cross.

Wow.....that's an ignorant and blanketing statement, some of us don't really have the money or supplies to donate. We can though send our thoughts and prayers to the people affected by this horrendous fire, if I could I would donate what I can. There also might be people who were able to donate something that didn't feel the need to respond to this thread :?

Not home town, but a city I spent many years in when I was teaching in Northern Alberta:

Map of damaged area:

And the thing that makes me sick to my stomach and boiling mad:
