The problem is only about 5,000 people get to hear them live every two years, so it's great the crowd likes it but...
Honestly, I'm with scarab, I don't car for it much at all, but it really does not matter...they play four times a year and it's becoming pretty obvious they aren't going to release new material, so other than youtube i'll probably never hear them again anyways....
I will say, it might be unfair to judge a singer by him singing the other guys songs on youtube and bad bootlegs. I mean I love Sammy Hagar with Van Halen (more than DLR), but if I were judging him off a few early boots of Jump, I would say he sux...you know? But as there was new material it was a totally different deal...

Granted I agree with you mostly on NOT for Survivor. BUT it's still remains to be seen how the new songs (if ever they come and one is about to) will sound. That said, I love his rendition of Burning Heart, Take...Saturday,Broken Promises and even TSIO (he truly makes this one his own).

Besides, it won't really be a new Survivor song anyway. Survivor doesn't exist anymore. This is Frankie's new band, and he's just using the name, presumably for marketing purposes, same as Jimi did when he released Empires.

For the regular Joe Blo, Survivor is Eye Of The Tiger and anything that were hits. My feeling is that if Survivor does come up with some new music, not many would bother to know anyway.

Thanks Andrew!...It seems like it has become 'politically incorrect' to point out the obvious when it comes to McAuley and that is the fact that he could not be a worse fit for this band's material...
So he's a great showman...BUT, it must not be all that important to him, as by joining "FSurvivor" he has limited himself to about five shows a year...
Listen, if the guy was replacing Kevin DuBrow in Quiet Riot, I'd be the first in line to by a ticket! But he's not...Of course DuBrow has passed on and Quiet Riot still plays more shows than Survivor...
Hell Tupac has been dead for about two decades and still releases more material..AHHHHHH
As for Empires, the funny thing is - as I was a big FS supporter back in those days (yep, I bought all the lies as well) I refused to buy the CD...10 years later when I did, I actually enjoyed it and it's better than 'Reach'...but still not Survivor....but neither is "FSurvivor"....
At this point, I want to hear a Bickler/JP album...
