#12 Best Styx video

Postby Toph » Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:05 am

Yes, I know the one part with the lights super-imposed is over the top cheesy and so outdated, but let's give this video its due....

- Played in the first hour of MTV's existence!
- One of most played videos in MTV's first year
- Nice concert footage
- The band, arguably, at its peak sound and product-wise
- Classic harmonies
- Arguably the last "rocker" in Styx by DDY

Here you go!

Indeed an excellent song by Dennis, but good lord what's with his outfit.Yikes.
At least we now know what happened to that left over piece from the draperies.

I think Dennis was trying to look like a character from the 1920's. Specifically, a theatre usher. You know, when the Paradise "story" started? I think it actually looks better than the modern (i.e. eighties) outfits that the rest of the band wore.

They needed a better wardrobe consultant then they had. Plus Dennis needed to spend more money on a better "hair appliance" when he lost his hair. What he uses just screams FAKE. Someone really needs to let him know. 8)

Speaking of bad wardrobe, JY looks like he borrowed his outfit from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Styx certainly had some godawful stage attire, for sure, but they were not alone in that department re the bands of the 70's and 80's. Fugly, ridiculous outfits for sure.

As to this video. It is nothing special in any way. Just a really nice song.

Change your hairdo. Change your name.
Congratulations! You're still the same.
