How exciting to hear amateur hour guitar work on classics like Golden Country, 157 and Ridin' the Storm Out.
REO was my favorite band as a kid. That ended around '89.

It is possible to enjoy the past and the present. Unfortunately some folks can't.

In regards to bands and original members or replacements that count for 50% or more of the current line-up I guess you could enjoy both. That is if you set the bar low enough.
Eve
Or if you just enjoy the band and don't dwell that ONE member is not there.

Dude, listen to those 3 songs off of "You Get What You Play For". Richrath's playing made that album as well as the rest of their live shows. If you get boners from Kevin's gay stories? That's on you.
I prefer killer guitar work.

I guess, if you apply the set the bar low enough theory. Maybe not if the person that replaces that ONE member SUCKS at performing the former members songs. Plus the band then has to avoid good songs in their catalog simply because the replacement can't pull them off.
