Again, post the link that proves your mindless ranting.

Sure what's your website link..

And, post a link to LRB's numbers.

Who the hell cares about the fake LRB I mean really, You are still and always will be an idiot..

That is my point - nobody should care about LRB. But, they are still out there touring and making a living out of it. IMO, they are the bottom of the barrel...So, if Styx can still outsell LRB, they can keep touring for years. If LRB is outselling them, then you are right and the end is here.

THAT, IMO, is what it will take for Styx to stop touring...not some lame half-truths and lies from you.

Now maybe he DID backstab Dennis at some point....none of us were there at the splitup....but this interview doesn't prove at all any backstabbing.

Dennis has been out of the band for 12 Years and he comes out with this garbage. Just goes to show how foolish Tommy Shaw is, He does a bluegrass cd that sells only 4000 units, His band can't even draw over 1000 fans, All he has been doing are cover cds of his own music and now today after the numbers come out showing how STYX has completely failed he once again throws shit at Dennis DeYoung, This guy would be even more of a 0 without Dennis. This is the world we live in folks
Poor Tommy Shaw has been taking a beating for killing STYX so he comes out and rips Dennis , This is a sad day for all STYX fans thanks to Tommy Shaw.

He is basically saying that money isn't what makes him happy, and all the money they make with Dennis in the band does not make up for the fact that the situation is an unhappy one.

That has been the consistent message from this band from the beginning. The only fans who should be surprised at all about this interview are those who STILL want to believe it's all about the money. it's not - and it could be any clearer.

Yeah, it's about power.

It's also about the band no longer needs a creative driving force since all they are doing is banking on the bands legacy. You need that when you are starting out and to keep the momentum going when you first reach a successful stage.

I really hate the whole "people only wanna hear the classics so that's what we give them" mantality. That's a quitters response to hard work. He's also saying that the casual fan is more important to Styx than the true fan. Real fans want their favorite band to stay active and record new music. Then they'd have a legitimate reason to tour; to promote a new album. Show fans that they don't just want to rest on their laurels and just play the same dozen songs night after fucking night. Really the GI/POE tour was just about the only decision they've made in the last few years that shows they're actually not zombies. But that was short lived and now were back to the same ole thing because "it's what we want". Hey Tommy, guess what... it's not.

OK, if no one cares then what are all these discussions about? If no one cared then these discussions would be pointless. It's more like people are on opposite sides of the fence. Some for and some against and some that couldn't give a shit whose up on stage as long as they play something they came to hear.

attempts to belittle everything about this band.So thank you so much Sterling.

Actually it's not that hard when you have a huge target like LG, JY, TS and a band with more then 50% replaced with employees as opposed to actual band members that got them to where they are. Thank you so much Sterling for the ammunition. Got some more? 8)

P.S. - Suggestion for the current band labeled as Styx. You may want always start your shows with The Grand Illusion. Since basically that is what you are. Not a very good one by the way.

You need to see a therapist. Seriously. You hardly have the ability to write complete sentences. I don't think you really understand what you read. Then you go on these long rants where every post you make you basically prove yourself wrong.

People DO care. People DO buy tickets. If 500 people buy tickets to a Styx concert, then 500 people cared enough about the band to buy a ticket and go to a show. LRB has toured as a 'fake' band much longer then Styx has...and I agree - nobody SHOULD care about LRB. But, enough people care to support a tour year after year after year. Styx is outselling LRB...I have NO DOUBT about that. If that were not true, YOU or a troll buddy, like Toph would have made a scene about it.

You seriously must be mentally retarded or have some kind of brain damage. Nothing else can explain these ridiculous posts that are so obviously not true. Get a brain scan done, see a therapist, or something...You really do have some type of mental issue.

It's lame, pathetic, trollish, childish, and is the type of behavior that deserves any critique or insults thrown at it.

Your approach to posting on this board is childish. Practically the only time you post is to sling personal insults at others in this group. It is clear that this helps with your insecurity in some way. As to your comment about "personal sounding board", WTF do you think any post is on this board. It's people expressing their personal thoughts about the band past, present or future. You must be dense not to figure that out. So what if people post things you don't agree with. The world is not all sunshine and rainbows. To expect every conversation on this board to be a positive statement, discussion or comment about Styx past, present, future or any of it's members is being narrow minded. If my posts bother you then just ignore them it's that simple. You act as if you are the crusader for truth or know exactly what went on with every aspect of this band. Here's a news flash for you, you don't. Neither do I. If my posts are out of line I am sure that Andrew will let me know that or take away my ability to post here.

Oh, please, you've ranted on this before.

When I post on a forum, I go where it goes. This is a very childish forum where people attack with very lame and childish posts, reptively...over and over and over again. You, Froy, Toph, etc really only have one thing to say here - Styx sucks so let's make fun of them at every opportunity. THAT is what this forum is about and has been for years now. YOU just admitted to your motivation in your post above.

I don't care much if people disagree with me. That's life...and it's not an issue for me here or on any other social situation. The issue is not just saying that you feel Dennis was treated bad but a few posters here using that opinion as a springboard for childish behavior of a constant slew of insults towards the band and the individual members. It has NOTHING to do with 'opinion'.

Yeah, I can ignore posts here when I want to. Sometimes I decide not to and I like getting into the thick of things. It's my decision if I want to, or not. If you don't like the fact that I get into it once in a while, that's not my problem - it's yours.

Discussion forums are supposed to be for DISCUSSING the forum subject, not making it the punchline of every lame joke you can think of. That makes DISCUSSION on a forum senseless....and THAT is where this forum is. I would NEVER come here for any serious discussion about Styx....that is a laughable concept...anybody who does that is an idiot.

So Boom Boom as long as you and others keep acting like this is some kinda Saturday morning cartoon then this forum is not going to be taken seriousoly by ANYBODY. So sorry you don't like that I pointed out the fact that your explicitly admitted actions are lame and childish. Maybe next time you'll actually think before you make such a post.

After thinking about things, I am starting to think that an actual DDY Styx reunion is actually going to happen now! The rate of Tommy Shaw's lies leads me to think the opposite of what he is saying!

Only time will tell. I am betting that this won't happen. I think this is furthest thing from all their minds. Since Dennis has revamped his band and added a singer to perform more Styx songs is telling. Stranger things have happened though.

Of course you care. If you didn't care, you wouldn't continue to go about this idea that I care about differing opinion. I don't. What I 'care', and I wouldn't even say that's the correct work, about is the constant joke that is made of Styx here. THAT makes a STYX forum itself a joke. So, whatever...do whatever...and when you slip up and ADMIT that is why you are here, I am going to point it out. Sorry that you don't like that.

Are you as retarded as froyline? I JUST TOLD YOU why I 'waste my time' here. I *LIKE* getting in the middle of the fray once in a while. But, I don't take it very serious. This forum is NOT a place to talk serious about Styx. It's a place to throw insults about at the various members and posters...as YOU admitted.

Pot meet kettle....you take every opportunity you get and slam Dennis wherever possible, and whenever someone has a valid conterpoint, you feel the need to insult them.

EXACTLY...at least you somehwat get it.

I don't insult Dennis EVERY chance I get. Kinda depends on who I'm posting to.

If Dennis was the leader of the band, as so many claim he was, then HE took on the responsibility of where the band went and how it crashed. I feel the same way about Steve Perry during ROR, and nowadays Neal Schon for the Eclipse debacle. If one member of the band decides to be the dictator then that person should take the responsibility for the failure - you can bet your ass that person would have taken the glory for any success.

I don't insult EVERBODY...I think the worst insult I've thrown at you is calling you a dude. Again, it depends on who I'm replying to.

But, in general, you're right. I go the way of the forum...and that IS the way of the forum.

Dennis has stated many times that he pushed the other guys into agreeing to KWH and that in hindsight it was a mistake. You know this. Plus, he's hardly took all the credit for their success.

Thank you so much Tommy.

And, that is exactly why I don't take this forum very seriously...and why I have no problem making personal insults towards idiots like you, or Toph, or froyline, or whoever else who thinks it's 'fun' to use a forum like this as their personal sounding board to insult and make fun of a band they are supposedly a fan of.

Oh please. Get off your fuckin' high horse. Nothing you say is going to stop me from posting my opinion. You can feel that my posts are childish, pointless or whatever you wish. I don't care. To bad if you do not like that I'm so critical about the current state of this band. One wonders why you waste your time here the way you feel about it. If you feel that I and some others are out of line with our posts, then submit a complaint to Andrew.

Again, get off your high horse. You are one of the most guilty at throwing insults at other posters in this forum. So you must be contributing to this forum being a joke as you put it. I may throw insults at the band and it's members, I never said that I didn't. I throw insults at the current Styx, you throw insults at Dennis DeYoung. But, I don't get my rocks off by slinging insults at other posters here as it seems you do. So give your "Holier Then Thou" routine about how people should conduct themselves in this forum a rest. Your no more less guilty then anyone else here.

Of course. My opinion is, and always will be, that having the 'push the other guys into agreeing' attitude means that HE is responsible for the bad stuff that happened as a result of that pushing.

Plus, he's hardly took all the credit for their success.

I lumped a few things together. He takes credit for: producing all the albums, developing the Styx sound, claiming to have some kinda magical touch that would make songs like "I Will Be Your Witness" even better.

Certain people who post here give Dennis all of the credit for the bands success.

Okay then... what would you call Tommy? Do you think on Cyclorama, Glen was satisfied with 2 songs on the album? And since you're such a huge Gowan fan... how 'bout him, do you think he was happy with 2 songs on the album? It's not like he hadn't been in the band for a few years by then. Then there's JY, he got 2 songs... oh but I almost forgot, Tommy sang solo parts on both of those. Tommy himself had 6 songs on the album. A bit unbalanced wouldn't you say, but let's try another. Big Bang Theory. Seeing as that there wasn't young Glen to worry about... Tommy was kind enough to give JY 3 and Lawrence 4 songs. Again Shaw garnered himself 6 songs and I'm pretty sure he sings harmony on Talkin' About the Good Times as well. Looks unbalanced to me. And hell, I even like Gowan's covers on the album... so it's never been about not liking "him". Back on topic. Everytime there has been a new "original" song lately, whether it be on a live album (CYO) or a rerecorded one (Regeneration I)... Shaw wrote 'em and sings them. Speaking of CYO and yes I know it's a live album, but someone decides what is performed... there is the DVD and then the CD. On the DVD, there are 17 chapters; 15 actual Styx songs, 1 medley and the finale. Shaw sings solo on 9 of the songs, sings on the medley and is the soul vocalist on the finale. Here's the interesting part, on the CD version of this which is constructed of 13 songs none of Tommy's are dropped. Damn! That's a ratio of 9:2:2. But I'm sure the others were fine with that. Dennis was such a dictator that the last album he appeared on with Styx Shaw sang solo on 7 and Dennis 5. And the 2 JY sang on, once again Tommy sang on both. Let's go back to 1990, DDY was such a dictator he only let young Glen sing 4 out of 10, while JY sang 1 and Dennis garnered 5... not to mention the album is named after Glen's song, what a complete dick for Dennis to have done that. On KWH, Dennis 3, Tommy 3, JY 2 and 1 was sang by both Tommy and Dennis. Well maybe Dennis was a dictator back in the 70's. Let's check on that... Crystal Ball, again... dickhead named the album after a song he didn't write, Tommy got 3 songs, Dennis 3 and JY 1. We could go on and on, but it'll keep proving my point. If Dennis is or was a dictator, what would you call Tommy? Who on the next Regeneration is actually rerecording 2 songs from when he was in another band. I'm sure that was the other guys' idea. Why not rerecord A Criminal Mind? That's at least Gowan's song. Nah, that would be fair that way.

Kinda seems that Shaw wanted control over the band doesn't it? Now that just couldn't be could it? Maybe the source of Tommy's "frustrations" was not what he states it was but rather he wanted to have complete control. As to his current band mates, except for JY and CP the rest are employees of the "Styx business". So Tommy is their boss and what he says goes or guess what? Your out of a job. At least he doesn't need to run around and complain to someone other then the person he has an issue with. Nor does he have to threaten to quit.

Plus, what can they really do about it. Fire him? Try and get excitement surrounding a Styx show with Gowan, Ricky Phillips, JY, Todd and another replacement for an iconic voice. Not gonna happen. They have no leg to stand on. He can do whatever he wants and they're powerless to stop it. What are they gonna do... quit? Yeah right, because better oppurtunities are bangin' down their door.

For Styx to exist at least Dennis or Tommy have to be involved. JY will always be tied at the hip to either of them for a musical career. If you don't think so, show me something he has done on his own (outside of Styx) that had any real success.
