Didn't realize this was such a big song. The crowd went nuts.

The irony is at stupid levels right now.

I've never had a problem with "First Time" and I think this video displays that this sound rocks with some great solo's and such. I think it really is a missed opportunity with Styx, would of loved to hear the song live.

I can't stand them anymore & i believe that is my right.Had they stayed with JSS i would have gone to see them.He is not a sound a like at all.Styx did not go with a sound a like love them for that reason. So back off Jr

I really, truly do not like this song, however.... It takes a really top level vocalist to pull it off. Not an easy song to sing. Arnel really does a top level job singing it, so kudos to him. It is surprising that (a) he sang it and (b) it got such a positive response.

That would have not went to #1, top 10 yes... but it isn't even close to being on par with Babe. First Time isn't a bad song IMO, but it starts out way too soft. In retropspect though... they probably should have released it. I believe the album stalled because of poor single choices... even though they're great songs, they just didn't have mass appeal. Borrowed Time is one of my favorite Styx songs and Why Me is also a great song, but also suffer from maybe a poor order of selection. Why Me might have done better if it had been released second. Borrowed Time not at all unfortunately. Problem is some members of the band were not thinking of the album at this point, but more thinking of themselves. Good choices might have pushed Cornerstone to sell $4 million.

While I can respect that you you don't care for the song, I don't see why it would be such a surprise to you that it got such a positive response. It is a song that has mass appeal and would have been an easy play on Top 40 stations.
