Based solely upon the amount of times I listen to an album in its entirety, my Top 5 would be:

1. Grand Illusion
2. Crystal Ball
3. Pieces of Eight

......and that's it. Haven't listened to Kilroy since 83, or PT since 84? 85? Cornerstone I can listen to all the way through only by skipping Eddie, First Time, and Babe. I spend more time listening to SRP than anything else, basically. So, in that context, my Top 5 would be:

1. 7 Deadly Zens (TS)
2. Influence (S/B)
3. Platform Shoes (MS Funk)
4. Hallucination (S/B)
5. The Great Divide (TS)

Very Tommy-heavy. So shoot me, I don't give a damn.
Sometimes it makes no sense at all.

Yogi and I pretty much line up exactly here. I might flip Cornerstone and PT, though. From Wooden Nickel, I would go with Styx II.

If we are putting in solo stuff, then I would slot in One Hundred Years between Cornerstone and PT. Maybe even rank it 4th overall ahead of those two.

Lotsa love from me.As a matter of fact,I'll take any wooden nickel album over anything they put out after Crystal Ball.
But Equinox is there best.

For me, I wasn't all that thrilled with GI as a whole. In fact that is the album I listen to the least. Commercially it was their break through album which I can understand. I find myself listening to CB and Eqnx the most out of all of their releases. As far as the WN releases I think all of them have their good moments.

I have to say, I think EOTC suffers from no Tommy and CYCLO suffers from no Dennis. Both are okay and contain some good songs, but neither one is an essential Styx record in my opinion.

I see it like this:

1. The Grand Illusion
2. Paradise Theatre
3. Equinox
4. Pieces of Eight
5. Styx II

Most of the rest of it is hit and miss, in my opinion. And so is some of this, but perhaps not to the same degree . . .
