Oh. lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fvPeoT2z00

Tommy and Dennis look like they raided Lorelei's closet. JY's wearing sequins not unlike things I've seen my grandma wear.

Chuck is the straightest looking one up there. Jeans and a long sleeve shirt.

Ha ha.
Saw this on Wolfgangs walt a while back.
It is nice Styx history.
Had to stop at the 2 minute mark because I was laughing too hard.
At 1;57 mark,it sounds like he sings 'It's time to masturbate'.

Froy's not the devil some folks here make him out to be. He's just passionate. I happen to agree with most of his points - I'm just not nearing an aneurysm over them.

I still think that's one of Suzanne's maternity tops.

He absolutely raided Suzanne's closet for this outfit, no question.

As we talked about on another thread on this concert, so many groups wore that pseudo-Renaissance, GOOFY stage clothing during that era.

Oh, my, yes. Whenever I reminisce about the 70s, and how much I miss that decade, the clothing is definitely not something I miss in the least. Yowsa.

The choker, chiffon shirt and knee high boots do go well with the beard. It's a whole lot to look at that's for sure. Can't even begin to try and figure out what Tommy is wearing. Looks like women's pajamas.

It's all good.Froy and I go way back.
I used to work for him filming weddings.I did the crane shots,
until I hit some over head wires that is.
I now work as a maitre deux at Mother Tuckers and Froy always gets the best table in the house,
when he has time to come by.

Wow, you're not kidding! When I was researching trying to choose photos for my book, over and over I just shook my head and thought, 'Didn't you people have any MIRRORS in the 1970s or 1980s!?' Maybe they were all being used for other purposes, LOL.

Styx always looked ridiculous. JY wore a freakin' space suit!???!!! Tommy in the jump suits with the Prince Valiant hair????!!!! Dennis with the riverboat gambler look ("Hey sailor . . ") ??!!! John as Captain Steubing from the fuckin' LOVE BOAT????!!!!!!!!????????

Sometimes I look at old pictures of this band and think, 'Wow, the music must be INCREDIBLE for you to have succeeded despite looking like that,' LOL.

That said, at least nobody in the band is wearing a cape!

At least a cape would have hidden that god-awful maternity top!

Would have been quite dashing for "Born for Adventure," too.

Actually, I think capes and Seventies rock go together well.

I was talking to Rich Williams from Kansas one time, and he was talking about Spinal Tap-type things they have done on stage, and he told me about a technical problem during a song called "Lightning's Hand" that was supposed to look like a huge bolt of lightning when Robbie sang, "I command the lightning's hand!" And instead it misfired and looked like a little sparkler in his hand. And then he paused, and he said, "And he was also wearing a cape at the time." That just cracked me up!

Another cape story: I interviewed Rick Wakeman, and here again we were talking about Tap-esque things that happen, and he told me the famous story about how he got so bored on stage during 'Tales From Topographic Oceans' that he had his roadie go get him a currie and he ate it on stage while they were playing. And I asked him, "Were you wearing a cape at the time?" And he said, "Oh, of course!" And we both just completely lost it laughing at that.

For the record, I think Dennis could have pulled of the cape look!

Absolutely. JY might have been able to in certain instances, but Dennis could have worn one all the time and let it work for him.

Certainly more so than the satin blouse.

My favorite JY look is probably the royal blue coat and silver pants from CITA - which in all fairness appears like it could very well be the genesis of David St. Hubbins in Spinal Tap! Look at them both and you'll see what I mean . . . it's like they were separated at birth.

I always thought it interesting that critics represent Dennis as a geek, but David Byrne as cool. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????? David Byrne's recent DVD should pop up on any internet search for "geek" or "uncool". He's DANCING, for Chrissakes! Or trying to, at least. He looks like my paperboy trying to engage in modernism.

Wow, just picturing Dennis in a cape makes me crack up. Just like that hair appliance does. To me it screams out fake every time I see him. Who does he think he is fooling? With the money he's got I would think he would be able to get one that was less noticeable then the one he got. Oh the vanity.
