Wow, I still have my PT tour jersey, and it is quite different from the new T, in that the theater logo is on the front, not the back. Not sure if I like this newer one better. I do like the GI shirt; it's cool.

hmmmmmm....I didn't know Larry, Ricky, and Todd were on The Paradise Theater World Tour in 1981, but they have their pictures in the marquee on back. They advertise it as being "RETRO". So another hmmmm on this one and at $30, wow.

My family owns a shirt screen printing and embroidery business, and that price is way way way out there. We would charge around $15 tp $18 in our store for a shirt made like this.

Shaw is a fucking, money grubbing tool with no ethics whatsoever. Putting the new lineup on a retro shirt. Fucking pussies.

Oh good Lord, that is just too funny. I hadn't originally noticed the photo on the PT marquee. How do you know Tommy is responsible? Why does he get blamed for everything? To me, this smacks of JY. Seems to me he carries more of a grudge, a lot more hatred, and much more unwillingness to bend than the other guys. After all, JY is "the Godfather" of Styx. He was not pleased by DDY; therefore, DDY must be exorcised.

Does not matter who did what I would not walk around with a Shirt that say's STYX on it for any reason any more. The STYX legacy is ruined only the clueless would advertise for this bunch of self centered jerks.

It is poor judgement for them to produce a shirt with individuals pictured on it that had nothing to do with that point in time. Doesn't matter who is responsible. It doesn't surprise me one bit. It goes right along with the notion that someone in the current Styx camp wants to try and erase Dennis' association with the band. Of all of them I like the PO8 shirt.

Well, there is a rumour going around that $10 of the 30 is going towards free Dennis snuggie huggie wankie blankies,
for the Dennis cry babies out there. They will even embroider your name on it.All you have to do is pay shipping and handling.

So I suppose you support their revisionist history then? Just because someone voices their opposing opinion doesn't mean they are upset about it. It's just in bad taste.

Speaking for myself, I do agree that it is in poor taste to be so blatant in erasing past history. Since 1977, I have been more a fan of Tommy's than of the band as a whole--it was his song ("Fooling Yourself") that caught my ear and drew me toward the band in the first place, and it has always been his songs that held my attention more than DDY's or especially JY's (ugh). I understand all the crap that went on, I understand they are happier now as a whole than before, and I see them live when they play near me, but I can't understand their total erasure of everything DDY. It is in poor taste, and it denigrates everything that was accomplished during the band's heyday. They can be as pissed at DDY as they want, but it would behoove them to, if nothing else, be graceful about the past rather than try to hide it. What is the point of hiding it? Time in the distant future will never erase DDY's contributions to the band's legacy; in trying so hard to cut it out themselves, the band just looks like a huge pile of sour grapes. It's not the way I'd want to be remembered if I were in the band. I still think this is more JY's doing than anyone else's, IMO.

I agree that these choices denigrates the material they created together. In the case of the PT shirt, I am not saying they needed to put Dennis' image on it. But to do what they did is just silly. After all, Dennis' vision and style is all over that album. In the long run I don't feel these things will serve them well. It exposes their immaturity about the whole situation. They should just take the position Dennis' has which is to keep the dirt private and focus on the good things that came out of them working together. If it was all sour grapes then nobody would even have heard of a band called Styx.

So what's on the back of the Pieces Of Eight shirt? Somehow I kinda doubt it's this:

Image

Maybe they Photoshopped one of those Easter Island statues over DDY's face...or inserted Larry Gowan's instead.

That Paradise T-Shirt is absurd. Do they really have the current lineup on a shirt dated 1981? That's obscene. I hope nobody buys this crap. 1997 was the last year of real Styx concert T's. Anything purchased after that is cover-band fraud.

I went to styxworld and looked at it in the store. They have a bigger picture of it, although blurry, you can still make out that it isn't the correct lineup. It is how XM's 80's on 8 calls them "Karaoke Styx".

It IS blurry, maybe too blurry to tell . . . but it looks to me like it's Lawrence, August Zadra, Todd, Chuck, David St. Hubbins, and one of the guys from The Babys.
