I Believe in You

Postby Baron Von Bielski » Sun Oct 02, 2011 3:55 am

Even though I've always thought 100 Years was a really good album I never thought much of this song. But we have satellite radio at work and sometimes we listen to The Blend that plays it semi-regularly which has made the song grow on me. Dennis is a one of a kind songwriter and performer.

It's nice to hear that some of the material off that album has made it's way to radio. Had Rounder did some real promotion for it I think it would have done somewhat better. What's puzzling is that Rounder said that they were going to do real promotion for it and there seemed to be nothing.

SERIOUSLY? No way... Both of those songs are terrible. It sounds like something from a Love Boat episode.
The rest of the album is great, no qualms there, but both of those songs should've been reworked.

Has to be one of the best songs Dennis has written in a long, long time. Even going back to when he was still with Styx.

A song like this... especially this one makes me mad that he's no longer in Styx. Crossing the Rubicon belongs on a Styx record. Songs like it and One With Everything prove that they can still write that way. If they ever put their differences behind, I mean if Tommy ever pulls his head out of his ass those 2 could construct a damn fine album together.

That's the whole sad point of the matter. Personality conflicts got in the way of the great creativity.
