Wholly crap, congrats Mac. That's a decade plus in the making. Does this mean a new record from Perry is coming? Maybe the stars are aligning for something other than the end of the world. :P

To expand on Aaron's question... Did you get any exclusive announcement type of info?

My bet is Perry is evasive as usual no matter what Wombat asked. Regardless of how it goes, it's a nice coup for Andrew and the site.

The worst thing Perry has done in his musical career is NOT being in Journey to keep Neil from releasing that P.O.S. Eclipse (which I'm sure still has legs. )

Sorry, but I can't believe it will be anything but saying how the original recordings are magical (we all know this), how there was great chemisty (we know this) and how journey fans are the faithful ones. Congrats Andrew, but I anticipate more of the same things we've heard for years. Hopefully, I am wrong, but I doubt it. Why all the sudden would he offer anything of substance? Not your fault. Nice of him to wait until the tour finished. Its a very cool thing to have on your reume though, nice one!

THE HOLY GRAIL OF INTERVIEWS - STEVE PERRY:
On MR's front page...

I am very excited to announce that I have completed a phone interview this morning with the legendary former vocalist of Journey - Steve Perry. It is the first time I have ever spoken to Mr. Perry and was grateful for him to blow right past our scheduled 20 minute interview time to talk for no less than 80 minutes! While I had a lifetime of questions at the ready, we did manage to cover a lot of ground in that time and I look forward to bringing that interview to MelodicRock.com very shortly. The interview was at 4.15am local time and I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards. The interview fills a long held desire to interview Steve and I can't wait to showcase the Feature Interview asap.
Steve Perry is promoting the release of Journey's Greatest Hits 2 compilation, plus the Vinyl Remaster release of Greatest Hits 1 and his own solo album Street Talk.
Sony Music have just released sizzle real's for both releases via YouTube. Check them out now:

And still with a few days left to run: October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! Fan Asylum has launched an eBay auction to raise awareness & funds to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Win a phone call from Steve Perry! Check out the auction and bid at: www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI ... 0628535238.
Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com

How original, dumb ass. Leaving a quote alone is nothing but a thread shit. If that's all you have to contribute, you might as well be a fucking slug. You are either extremely brainless or that was a silent troll.....which was it? People, who actually engage, are much more respected around here, rather than some spineless twit who just runs around quoting others. Were you born that retarded, or did you have to work at it? Well, fuck face.....what is it?

Andrew, come on man, you know how to conduct an interview. You've done hundreds of them and you're always polite and respectful. While I certainly wouldn't dig for any dirt, I would ask him more current questions such as if he's actually recorded any new material yet or what his thoughts are on Journey's current success with Arnel.

YAY! Congrats Andrew...well deserved.

As far as content goes..I am sure that Andrew is seasoned enough to attempt to try to
make this a "new" read. I am also happy he finally got one of the interviews on his bucket
list!

Look forward to reading it! 8)
