gr8dane" "froy

You know your insane when you think a copy cat singer is better than the original There is no way on earth no matter what the story is

You are so cute and so full of hot air, that I just wanna peck those little puffy cheeks of yours.

Go ahead and see what happens you pecker

You say this, and yet you think Dennis with a few hired 3rd string bob a job rookies plays and sings Tommy's Blue Collar Man better than Styx does.

Yep I do and that is because it closer to the original than the Dennis songs STYX does. Gowans versions of Dennis songs suck big time the guy sings like he 's freezing in a blizzard Must be a Canada thing
August is not better than Shaw but he does justice to his songs , He's at least close to the original Gowan is close to replacing Alvin on the chipmunks

Very Cool, but Dennis is just so.....white. He lacks a little fluidity on stage, but man, he can still sing.

Tom Sharpe posted this video up on his facebook wall with this comment:

Not bad for a bunch of guys learning this song with ipods on the plane to the gig

Impressive

I'm sure if you posted a styx vid on dennis's fb page (if he had one) it would be deleted as well.

Dennis does have a Facebook page. I'm sure it would be taken down too.

I've seen this with other broken up bands and how fans are posting one group on the other groups pages. They keep taking down the videos and deleting posts.

How so?

Watch the 2 videos back to back. It's like comparing the production of a high school play to a broadway show. Everything from the set to the sound to the way the band member carry themselves. The name Styx just carries so much more power and I am fully aware that Dennis is a big part of that. But as hard as he may try (or maybe he does not try) his show is not up to the same standard which is not something he would have settled for with Styx.

You're comparing two different songs in two different settings

As a solo act Dennis will never have the money to spend on production that Styx is able to spend. His band also doesn't do the number of shows that Styx does, so I wouldn't expect them to be as "polished / choreographed" as Styx is. Styx does one basic show that hasn't changed very much in the last 5 years. If you want to talk the quality of the show or presentation of the songs, let's talk about the "lead shoes" Styx has when they played all the new to the set songs during Pieces of Eight/ Grand Illusion. You get songs where they were mobile and songs where they just basically stood there and watched themselves play the notes. At least with Born for Adventure the band was more than mobile and didn't have the lead shoes that Styx has.

Dennis puts on 3 very different shows that presents the music of Styx that drew us to the band and Styx ignore the existence of it's top 10 hits and the songwriter that brought them much of their fame. If you want to hear the music that you likely fell in love with, you'll go to Dennis' show. If you want to hear Greatest Hits 2 you'll see Styx. Two different shows, two different expectations.
