Yes! This isn't about honor. It's the dude's fucking job. Who gives a fuck whether he's happy or not. I would imagine that most people aren't happy with their job. It's called "work" for a reason.

Good lord, Albert Haynesworth has to be one of the biggest idiots in the game today:

ProFootBallTalk wrote:We all know how well that worked out. Haynesworth is now in Tampa after getting cut by the Patriots and claimed on waivers by the Bucs and he said Thursday that he feels he should have been there all along. So why didn’t he sign with the Bucs as a free agent?

“It was too pretty, too much water, too much sun here, and I’d just bought a big nice boat, a good fast boat, and I really felt like if I came here I’d mix my time in with football and boating,” Haynesworth said, via Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune. “When I was in Tennessee, during football season I did the football and during the offseason I did the boating and did all my toys and played around and everything like that. But I figured with the water and the sun being here all year round I was a little afraid of myself on a Tuesday or something like that going for a boat ride. I should have trusted myself and known, but I was really kind of scared of that.”

Didn't this fat, overweight, overrated & washed up lazy piece of trash act like New England was a world run by Saints, Gods and Rainbows when he got there? Athletes never cease to amaze me anymore with their words & insights.

No upset there young lad. The Jets are the home team, have the same record, and are actually the team favored to win the game! They're also my pick.

Only calling it an upset because the Jets lost to the Pats earlier in the season and the Pats certainly never lose 2 in a row let alone 3. And thanks for taking me off your friends list on facebook dickhead! haha.

27-10 Jets. I'm a lifelong, faithful Pats fan - I've suffered through the Rod Rust Era and the 20-year-long stretch of the "run-run-pass-punt" strategy.

But I'm also a realist. We have no confidence, no momentum, no feature back, no deep threat, and no secondary.

Unless I'm mistaken, we had none of those things in week 5, and still won.

So in another thread I was asking about code for finding all the combinations of groups (thanks S2M). I didn't quite get how to use that, but I did end up figuring it out. Anyway, what I was writing was code that would figure out the scenario(s) in which a team could clinch their division the fastest. It's not perfected yet, but given no further bye's for the teams in that division and given no ties, I have it working. So if anyone wants to know when their team can clinch, and how they can do it the fastest, ask away.

In baseball it is easy.

G + 1 - W(a) - L(b)

no need of a punnett square, map graph or any other such nonsense...

Where G = total games in the season(162) + 1 minus Total wins by leading team minus total loses by 2nd place team....

162 + 1 - 90 - 67 = Magic # of 6

It may work for Football....As far as NE and NY...leaving the Bills out of the equation for now - each team has a magic # of 9. Meaning 5 NE wins plus 4 NY loses, or vice-versa....looks like the fastest either team can clinch would be week 14(or teams' 13th game)

Yea - Magic number is fairly easy. But that tells me when a team can clinch given them winning every game. So the Niners can clinch in Week 13 if they win each game no matter what the other teams do, I think. But what I want to know is the earliest they can clinch (week 11), which introduces the aspect of the other teams losing every game. And then analyzing what happens when divisional teams go head to head - (e.g. Rams beat AZ or AZ beats Rams). And then I wrote it such that it would not only give me that answer, but also all the different possibilities to make that happen. With Niners, there is only one path right now to a week 11 clinch. For Denver, there are maybe 15 different ways they can clinch in Week 15.

And you really can't come up with a standard equation, since division games change from year to year...You may only have 3 Division games in the first half of the season....you never know.

And the earliest a team can clinch is actually game 9...in a perfect setup.

Never happened Matt. I call Travis out when he posts dopey stuff and apparently he and his Pittsburgh crowd couldn't take it any longer, which is okay with me. Travis is a good guy, but needs to be called out when he's spouting off silly stuff. I promise you that I wasn't the one who "de-friended" him. Honestly, I don't pay that close attention to stuff like that, so this is the first I'm hearing of it.

Neither team wins this game by anything close to 17 points, dude. You are apparently not watching this New England team. It's halfway through the season, so most teams are what they are. New England isn't a horrible team, but they're not close to an elite team. Their defense is one of the worst defenses I can ever remember the Patriots having...even during their down years. The names in their starting lineup on the defensive side of the ball are actually embarrassing. Most of these guys don't belong on an NFL roster, let alone starting for a team who has playoff aspirations. In my opinion, this Patriots team isn't a playoff team, and if they do get in, they're one and done! They have a very bad matchup against the Jets this week. Revis will lock down Welker, and Brady won't have anyone to throw the ball to. Hernandez is not healthy. Chad Johnson fucking blows. Deion Branch has disappeared, and Gronkowski can't do it all on his own.

Right, but the playoffs don't begin today and the Bengals still have to play the Steelers twice and Raven twice. I think Bengals fans will come crashing back down to earth in a hurry. It wouldn't stun me to see the Bengals go 0-4 in those games.

Really? Brady didn't win a SB in 01? He threw ONE pass for 6 yards prior to taking over for Bledsoe...he was a rookie in all intents and purposes.

Ok, John....you realize you fucked up. No need to keep this up. Real game snaps are what matters when one uses the word 'rookie'. He had attempted 3 pass attempts prior to taking over for Bledsoe. The 'technical' definition can be ignored....he was a rookie. And not ONE football fan here, other than you, will deny that fact....C'mon man.
