Most of Flacco's big completions in this game have been the result of some superb catches by Baltimore's receivers.

And some less than stellar DB play....without the TOs, this game is Houston's all day.

Houston's defense is better than advertised. They need a special teams breakout and that rookie isn't cutting it. Maybe they should think about replacing this kid if they want a good return, he already has an awful judgment play on the ball that resulted into 7 Ravens points, a stupid run-backwards on a punt and a terrible performance on others.

It's almost like Denver will fuck with your heads, you can't really measure how good you are playing at home against Tim Tebow. I don't think Baltimore is that great of a team, clearly if you just witnessed this game against Houston in it's entirety, but they have the formula to handle New England out of all the AFC teams. Baltimore is a FAR cry from Denver for what it's worth. Should be a great Championship game.

Belichick never said any such thing, and he never would!

That he said. He believes Reed is pretty close to the top of the list of Safeties to ever play the game.

Um, how is it any different than Baltimore facing Houston? While I don't disagree that the Patriots aren't nearly as good as they looked against a bad Denver team, let's not lose sight of the fact that they only managed to score 20 points against a very mediocre Houston team. I promise you that TJ Yates (or whatever his name is) didn't test that defense the way Brady will. Baltimore isn't beating the Patriots scoring 20 points, this time around! Definitely strength against strength. A great offense against a great defense. If this second game shakes out the way I think it will, it will be the first time in as long as I can remember that the top two seeds from each conference have advanced to the Conference Championship Game.

I wouldn't call the Houston Texans defense mediocre whatsoever. In fact, they played the best defense in the playoffs thus far against their opponent with feared weapons. Baltimore isn't that great of a team, but Houston is a better measuring stick than Denver ever will be. Baltimore was in a dog-fight for most of the game. The Pats were playing an exhibition, that's my point. I think Brady out-duels the whole Ravens offense, single handily. I think as bad as the Ravens offense is and how bad the Patriots defense is, the Patriots will play bend but don't break. I like New England by 14.

That ref that watched the replay should be fired before he can take his uniform off.

I can see getting the call wrong on the field but to watch it over and over on video and get the call wrong is inexcusable. The NFL should be embarrassed.

Hell if I were someone in the Giants organization, I'd question whether the fool has some investment in GB winning the game. I'd take the fine. Anyone with any football knowledge could have gotten that call correct.

Couldn't agree more. I don't have a dog in this fight, but how the hell an official watches that replay and doesn't call a fumble is beyond my level of comprehension. Maybe the fucker is blind. I certainly can't think of any other reason not to get such an obvious call right. When you have instant replay, you MUST get the fucking call right. Otherwise, there is simply no point to it!

Maybe that's it. Fox only broadcasts their games in 720p resolution, while all the other networks are doing 1080i. That decreased resolution must make a fumble look like something else. The NFL really owes all of its fans an explanation for how on earth they go "under the hood" to look at that play and still fuck it up.

Nothing I would enjoy more. My wife is looking at me like I'm fucking nuts because I'm sitting here rooting for a NY team (which goes against everything that I believe in). I would LOVE to see the Patriots beat both Baltimore (to avenge last season) and then the Giants for ruining their perfect season. That almost seems too perfect to ever become a reality. A man can dream.

Um, that's one of the few the Niners weren't in, so no.

I sure they'll need to get the stick ready for next week's game.

Well, if you believe in trends, it looks like it could shake out to a Niners versus Ravens Super Bowl, given that all the top defensive teams won this weekend. The Patriots are the only team with the lesser defense that won and their defense probably played better than any other team. Should be an interesting Sunday next week.

That was really dumb of the Packers to onside kick that with nearly 5:00 remaining in the game, in my opinion.

What a horrible performance by the Packers. I should have gone with my instinct, as I knew this was a very tough matchup for the Packers. I just thought they would pull it out. I am very surprised that neither the Saints nor the Packers even made it to the NFC Championship. The Giants and Patriots will be favored next weekend, but it is truly wide open.

I was just coming on here to say that it's interesting for all the QB passing records broken this year and all the talk of the NFL being an offensive-driven "passer's league," 3 of the 4 teams left have very stout defenses and 2 of the 4 teams left have MISERABLE passing attacks.

I also want to say that I posted a few weeks ago (right before the KC loss I think) that the Packers were starting to buy into their own hype far too much. They showed very little fire today, and I think they started believing that their merely suiting up in the green and yellow colors guaranteed them a win.

The final scoreline doesn't reflect how badly the Pack got dominated, especially considering the horrendous officiating.

One thing is for sure that's been so EVIDENT in the NFL PLAYOFFS. You better appreciate and understand your position as a football team heading into the post season because you could be OUT OF THE SADDLE in a blink of an eye. I was texting Matt that the most underrated coach possibly ever is Tom Coughlin. The dude got so much flack for so many years for playing rough and being too "out of hand" when it came to mean-ess, and toughness of the football team. The G-MEN are just so mentally tough because of Coughlin and it shows. Their Giant killers.

Rodgers OUT
Brees OUT
Roethlisberger OUT

BRADY
SMITH
FLACCO
E. MANNING.

I think it's NOW safe to say that the Super Bowl, is an open floor. Anybodies for the taking givin these matchups for the Title Game.

I've always liked Coughlin as a coach. Hell, he made Boston College somewhat relevant in college football when he coached here eons ago. As for the QB's remaining...I am now sold on Eli. The guy simply plays very well in big games, and you just can't ignore something like that. I like the guy and believe he is a top 5 QB in today's NFL. The reality is that he has as many Super Bowl rings as Aaron Rodgers, and could be on his way to a second while Rodgers has to accept the fact that he pulled a Peyton Manning in a huge game.

When you look at the overall big picture, there's two guys that evolved and has gotten eons better from the year before. Alex Smith and Eli Manning. If you ask me, Eli did it with less and carried the Giants on his back throughout the ENTIRE season and led his team week to week and he didn't disappoint. Eli has impressed me this season and he continues to be the comeback player of the year if you ask me.

Interesting. The Patriots line is too big, in my opinion. Nice to see the Niners getting some respect after winning a game that most (including me) didn't think they could win.
