It doesn't make her a better woman in the sense of being better than the next woman but it makes her a better woman in the sense that she overcame the challenge of an unmedicated birth. In a society where we have made trusting the birth process "weird" and medical intervention the norm, it's refreshing to see some women that still believe they have the power to birth babies without drugs and intervention. Not to say it's wrong to use medications but it's each woman's choice and it's each woman's individual experience and what's right for one is not right for everyone....to each her own.

I understand what you're saying, but some folks just have a higher pain
tolerance/threshold than others. I have a friend who has her teeth drilled
w/out any medication and I'm never going to try it as long as I can
get the shot!!
