It's 1984...

Postby Toph » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:38 am

And Tommy is staying with Styx. They are concepted out and decide to put out an album of just songs with no thematic (like Cornerstone or Edge). So what is on it? What are the singles? How well does it do? What happens next?

Here's my answers

Side One
Don't Wait For Heroes
Lonely School
Desert Moon
Gravity
Girls With Guns

Side Two
Come In And Explain
Dear Darlin
Wild Dogs In the Night
Little Girl World
(Duet TS and DDY) written for album

Singles
Desert moon (peaks at 1)
GWG (peaks at 7)
Don't wait (peaks at 23)

Album charts at 4 sells 3 mm copies

Band tours but still breaks up

Your thoughts?

It's an interesting topic, but honestly, it makes my head hurt trying to piece it all together like that.

Hey fucktard - it went top ten as a DDY solo song. Thinking if it is a Styx song it goes to #1. The guy knew how to write pop singles. Sorry that I pissed in your Cheerios. Btw the more rarer part of that post was giving Tommy Shaw a top 10 - that is truly a stretch given his lack of top 10 singles in his career.

If your judging how good someone is on top 10 singles .... that makes Milli Vanilli better than Led Zep :)

I think I get it.
So as a Dennis song it was only a top 10.
But with the help from the names of Tommy and JY and Styx, it would be a number 1 song.
Thanks for making that clear.

i 100% agree with toph on this one......if desert moon had been released as a new "styx" song on a solid styx album it would have gone #1....no doubt in my mind......i think the song would have sounded a hair more "styx like" and the addition of tommy's and jy's vocals in the chorus would have been a familiar sound to the public for sure.

Fucktard, moron. You think Dennis would approve of such language.
Well which songs were 1,2,3 and 4 on the hit list while Desert Moon was on 7?

Look at the string of posts. Gr8t started it with another smartass comment. All I tried to do was put something out for discussion and the DDY haters take every opportunity

You are so cute .
You always start a topic, which will lead to Dennis being oh so wonderful and the best,
leaving the other guys having to be thankful for what ever the they have ,because of Dennis.
Yes I started it.My humble apology.

Sorry, also I asked earlier for discussion.Which songs were on the top 10,
ahead of Desert Moon.If Styx put it out and you thinking they would make # 1,
they would have to beat #1,2,3,4,5,6,.
Which were those bands or artists, and maybe there would be some reality,
weather it would actually only be able to move up a spot or 3 ,which is more likely.
Sorry, #1 for Desert Moon.No.
Here's my discussion.
