Steelers @ Titans, NFL Network, Thursday Night Week 6. The Steelers start with 3 huge AFC opponents in Denver, Jets & Raiders. We don't get our first division opponent until week 7 so that'll be the calm before the storm.

Also, Steelers play the Ravens only one week within each other. Goofy. Week 11 Sunday Night home, Week 12 @ Cleveland and @ Baltimore again in Week 13. Interesting setup. Those 3 games are HUGE for the AFC North.

It's true, here's the list for strength of schedule.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/ ... f-schedule

Well, the rest of the AFC East isn't exactly a gauntlet at this point, though the Bills should be somewhat improved. However, they also scheduled the Colts again. I think they could've skipped that considering Manning's no longer with the Colts and the matchup, without him, isn't exactly quite as interesting. Of course, they're playing Denver also, so Manning's on the schedule regardless. I definitely think they could've beefed up the schedule a bit more but you never know in this league how that's really going to turn out.

I'm putting the Cowboys higher than 11. We're AT LEAST tied with Filthadelphia.

What NFL throwbacks from the 1950's/60's AREN'T terrible? It's nostalgia. Every team does it. The NFL loves ugly throwbacks. They are fugly, but I'll own one. 8)

I think the Ravens should wear the 58 Colts uniforms as throwbacks. Johnny Unitas would want it that way!

Seems strange, to be sure. But I don't really put a lot of stock in "strength of schedule" ratings. This is the NFL--who knows how good the great majority of teams are really going to be?

Can't wait for that one.Steelers/Titans on Thursday Night primetime in week six.Looks like you guys get the Broncos in the first game with Manning starting for Denver so i will definitely be watching that one.Its in Denver so one of the players i think it was Clark for the Steelers who won't be able to play because the high altitude makes him very sick. Also toward the end of the season we get to see Steelers/Cowboys which is always one of the best games every few years when they do play.Even though it is interconference the Cowboys/Steelers do have a bit of a rivalry due to all the super bowls they played against each other.

Steelers/Cowboys is the biggest rivalry when it comes to separate conferences going head to head because of the history between each other in the 70's and playing in 3 Super Bowls together. They truly are mere opposites. Dallas is the glitz and glamor, Pittsburgh is blue collar rough and rugged. Always a ratings monster for the NFL once these two teams are featured. Steelers are 2-0 against Dallas this decade 8)

I love the positioning of the schedule between Pittsburgh/Dallas. It's a marquee game but at the same time, both teams should be well established by that point and each respected team should be either in the running for a high playoff spot or one could be sluggish and hitting a rut. That's the meat of the schedule. That will defiantly test Pittsburgh more if both teams are in the hunt since they are on the road and it's their first time visiting Dallas since their loss in Super Bowl XLV. Should be a juicy storyline.

It might be a killer for one of us. And I'm going to try to make this one...as it's right before my bday. But the only problem is that Rush plays Houston earlier in the month, and I gotta see how much those tickets are gonna be. Especially since it's at Toyota Center this time.

Oh...one thing that kills me about our schedule...in the first 11 weeks, we have only 3 home games. We better become Road Warriors REALLY quick.

The knock against Dallas was that they could never perform in the month of December and always taper off when that time period begins, for whatever reason. They are always in it at the beginning of the season the majority of the time so getting most of their home games during the last stretch of the season could be beneficial when things like fatigue start to wear down and you don't have to travel much that late in the year. The Steelers last 3/4 games are at home as well.

True...but we've struggled on the road the past couple of years, and if that trend continues, December won't matter much. So now you know my worry.

Yeah, that's pretty much most of the fanbase's worries though. The first 5-8 games set the stage for a final push. They always did say, it's not the way you start, it's the way you finish. If teams can keep their head above water, win the games their supposed to win, not get swept within the division then the months of November & December separate the contenders from the pretenders.

I'm being safe with predicting our division by saying split. Don't want to lose to the Skins on Thanksgiving, though. lol

The NFC EAST is always a division when it comes to the toughness division played, but this season defiantly has more emphasis and it could be very difficult for one team to separate from the pack. You have the Giants defending their title with Eli entering his prime elite years & two solid teams who underperformed a year ago that has mad potential with Philly & Dallas, every bit of a threat as the Giants. Throw in the possibly of RGIII taking the glamor away from the favorites within the division playing upset and there you have one interesting script to follow all season long with the NFC East. We won't have to wait long either. Dallas @ G-Men to open the season.

My ideal scenario is us and the Skins going for the east title (and us winning, of course). I want THAT rivalry back now more than ever, since we have to be "friends" this offseason due to cap penalties.

My early NFC Championship is Dallas/Chicago. I think sooner or later, Dallas is going to get over the hump & make a run. They are due. It's all up to how mature Tony Romo developed over the years and see if he can churn all of his inner-demons and translate that into being dangerous in closing out games. If he can make that jump, then Dallas could be ready.

It means absolutely NOTHING. Not to mention, I'm reasonably certain that many of the so-called "experts" will pick Houston and San Francisco to go to The Super Bowl. The Patriots play both teams. In addition, the Jets games are never easy. On top of that, they have the Broncos, who now actually have a QB and the Ravens (who think they have one). I also think having Mario Williams in the middle of Buffalo's D line instantly makes them FAR more formidable! Talk to me about "strength of schedule" in December, when it actually means something!

Not even a little. By the way...just to further illustrate my point, in 2007, the Cardinals had the easiest "strength of schedule". In 2008, the Patriots had that honor. In 2009, the Bears had the easiest strength of schedule. In 2010 and 2011, it was the Cardinals again. None of those teams even made the playoffs, and the Patriots were the only one of those teams who even had a winning record. Again, it's a completely meaningless statistic, given that it is based on the previous season and a completely different team with different players!

Now that it's official...I'm missing the 2nd Cowboys/Iggles game for a Rush concert. That should tell you how much that band means to me. LOL

I know I'll be checking my phone the whole show now.
