Well Yogi got me thinking with his Dream Theatre Shinedown shows.

Only heard one DT album and It didn't turn my crank.
Never heard Shinedown.

Anyways.
I picked up the Livenation mega ticket pack (10 shows lawn seats) for $130,00

Shows included at the Molson Amphitheatre here in Toronto.

Beach Boys,Scorpions,Nickleback,Iron Maiden,Santana Dukes of September (Donald Fagan,Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs)
Blue Rodeo,Kelly Clarkson,The Fray and Roxette.

That's a pretty good deal right there.

Pick up Shinedown's - Sound Of Madness - then get Amarylis next. - GREAT GREAT band - Best band out there right now.

Start with track 4 of Dream Theatre's A Dramatic Turn Of Events and listen to it all to the end. They are soooo good!!
Dream Theatre was better live. But Shinedown was great also!

Why do you always spell Dream Theater "Dream Theatre?" All of their albums say "Dream Theater"

Listen to 3 Shinedown singles: 'Second Chance', 'Crow & Butterfly' and 'If You Only Knew' all 3 songs are off of their Sound Of Madness album. These all could have been done in the 70's or 80's. GREAT Music is GREAT music. Listen to those 3 songs and then get back to me.

As per Dream Theatre - List to songs 4 thru 9 off of the Grammy nominated A Dramatic Turn of Events CD.

Shinedown will only take 1 or 2 spins, Dream Theatre may take a little longer, but the above is solid GREAT GREAT music by 2 UNBELIEVEABLE bands. Do the above and then get back to me.

OK.So it turned out I had heard Shinedown Second chance before.
Listened on you-tube and some of the Dream Theatre.
But this is just not my cup of tea what so ever.

Kinda like how the cover of Dramatic turn is so much like Supertramp's famous last words.

By the way.I prefer british versions of these kinds of bands that you mention.
Porcupine Tree,Pendragon and Marillion.A little more proggy lighter breezier and dreamier.
You know any of those guys?
