Interesting Facebook Question

They are asking fans for only six (yes six) tunes to add to the set.
Here's what I came up with, yes I know it's not six.

Pieces Of Eight
Lights
Madamoiselle
Half Penny Two penny
Boat On The River
All in a day's work

I noticed that too. Let's see if it seems like they actually LISTEN to the fans. (Although, I am sure the masses will ask for nothing special. It's always the case.)

Anyway, I put..... BORN FOR ADVENTURE, Shooz, Snowblind, Midnight Ride, Queen Of Spades, Castle Walls

This is what the masses want. This is why Styx plays the sets they do.

The masses only know the the hits and the stuff they have been beating to death for decades. Since the shows are designed for the casual\general fan I don't think they will be doing deep cuts or stuff that is obscure. It will be interesting to see if people suggest DDY songs like BOT, SMTW, DLIE or even Babe. However, I don't feel that's likely since people following them on FB are most likely fans of the current configuration of the band.

I guess that's why they never play "I'm OK" and "Man in the Wilderness.".

To me those songs are neither obscure nor deep cuts. In fact, they have already included those in their past set lists. They also were either released as B side singles or were played by radio stations at some point. I'm talking about the stuff that never saw any airplay, stuff that only hardcore fans would suggest and DDY material that they have clearly wanted to stay away from. If Babe was to be suggested in significant numbers I doubt they would add it.

They do play "Man in the Wilderness" on a pretty regular basis since the GI/Po8 tour two years ago. YouTube is full of current vids of that song.

As for my choices, I'd love to hear "Shooz" to see Tommy play some slide. I'd also add "Lights" and "Mademoiselle." I'm no fan of DDY's stuff, but I would like to hear "Borrowed Time", and not the shortened version they played in their medley a few years back. I'd also add "On My Way" and "One With Everything."
Sometimes it makes no sense at all.

I know that. I just think the comment I replied to was ridiculous. It's also how I got this:

I wish they would take out suite madame blue for pieces of eight/castle walls or queen of spades.
At least rockin the paradise is back after a 10 year hiatus.

What is probably going to happen, IMO, is they are looking for a six or eight songs to rotate in place of I'm OK and Man In the Wilderness. Maybe rotate a JY song as well, in place of Miss America.

What I doubt will happen is six songs being replaced in that set.

They should add Young Man, Love In The Midnight, Lights, Little Suzie, Madomoseille, On My Way, Dear John, Everything Is Cool, & These Are The Times

Born For Adventure would also be GREAT but thats DDY's baby!!!

Well I'm not on FB but if a one wants to throw in my request for Witch Wolf please do so for me :)

Half Penny would be another good one. I saw them play that one in St Louis in 99.

Also, The James Young Group had a wonderful version of Double Life they used to play. Top choice would be Witch Wolf or if they got really ambitious they could try A DAY.
