Dallas makes me want to puke from the sole reason of Jerry Jones and ONLY Jerry Jones. This guy is fucking CLUELESS and shouldn't be involved in any of the teams football operations as far as what the head coach seems fit! Now wonder why these duds can't win anything meaningful. I don't know how anybody can like this steaming pile of shit. Jones is becoming an Al Davis figure in Dallas. An owner wanting too much power over the team that will ultimately end in embarrassing fashion until the guy gets it! Sad thing is, he never will.

Garrett considering replacing Felix, but Jerry says no
Posted by Darin Gantt on September 18, 2012, 12:30 PM EDT

Felix Jones was leapfrogged by DeMarco Murray for running back touches, and it sounded like he might be on the verge of losing a return job as well.

But it apparently helps having friends in the alumni association.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Monday that he’d consider other “alternatives” after a fumble on the opening kickoff in Seattle underlined a lack of performance.

“Line 1 in returning the football in the NFL for me is ball security,” Garrett said.

But the elder and more important Jones said Tuesday his fellow former Arkansas Razorback was fine, and that he remained confident in him as a returner.

“Well, just because I do,” the owner said on KRLD-FM, via ESPNDallas.com. “So I feel like we’re in good shape. But that’s it on that. Move on.”

But then he went on.

“I don’t know about that,” he said about the possibility of replacing a returner who ranks 23rd in the league. “I think we saw him be quick at practice last week. I think we need to give him a little more room out there.

“Felix has returned a lot of kickoffs in his time – All-American twice in college as a kickoff returner. We have over the years been reluctant to use him as a kickoff returner because we didn’t want to risk injury, but we’ve decided this year to use him as a kickoff returner. He should be a great asset for us. That’s the way it remains.”

Hopefully one of the options Garrett was considering was washing glasses, because it sounds like this decision’s been made.

I was yelling cut him during the "return for a fumble". He was good a couple of years ago. When you left him in space, he'd torch you, but I think those days are over. Kinda like Barber's days were over in '10. I knew it week 4 that year. He had a couple of sparks against the Lions and Cards that year.....but that was about it.

I didn't read previous pages so forgive me if this has been discussed.

NFL players and coaches are living up to their reputation by bullying the replacement refs. They should be ashamed. They are showing how much class they have...barely any. Growing up in sports, I know you have to have to have a little of that in you to be successful, but it is sick watching them. They are bullying to get an edge. They are bullying because they can. The coaches and players are the ones that should be dogged by commentators, not the replacements.

I don't always agree with him, but here is a good article by Jason Whitlock of Fox http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/peyt ... ths-091812 .

Interesting move by the Pats with Winslow today.

Still have to think we'd be better off with Stallworth or Gaffney in the mix. You gotta get Welker the ball.

I'll hit the panic button if and only if we lose to Baltimore this week, which is a distinct possibility. We had no business losing to the Cardinals when we outgained them by almost 200 yards. That was the worst game of Gronk's career. WTF was he thinking out there?

I agree with you on Seattle i think they will be pretty good this season and the 49ers will have a fight for the division on their hands because the NFC west is like you said its suddenly went from shitty division to one of the better divisions.Hell even Arizona is 2-0 BUT i don't see them being in the mix at the end.I do think the 49ers may go 12-4 or 11-5 but Seattle will claw for a possible wild card at 10-6 or 9-7.

It's early in the season. I honestly wouldn't worry. Truth be told, I'd be VERY okay with the Patriots not winning 14 games a year. Last I checked, the Giants won a whopping 9 games last year and barely made it into the playoffs. Ultimately, Brady isn't exactly young. That said, I'm convinced after two games that this Patriots defense is SIGNIFICANTLY improved. Between Chandler Jones (an absolute BEAST) and Donta Hightower, this is a completely different defense. They have three rookies starting on defense and all contributing early (Tavon Wilson has two picks in two games). That's just not something that happens on teams who were in The Super Bowl the previous season. I'm very happy with the early returns on this defense and I suspect they'll be much improved by the time December rolls around.

I love the Thursday Night games. I wish they played games on Friday, Sat and Sunday too. The more Football on TV the better.

I wish there was some way every team that plays on Thursday could be coming off a bye week.

Aside from the fact that the broadcast crew blows, there is nothing sucky about more NFL football on TV! That's like complaining about too much pussy

I really wish the NFL Network could somehow get John Madden and Pat Summerall to do Thursday Night games. I know they are old as dirt and retired, but it would be great. Heck, even if they somehow were able to do game analysis in the studio, it would be an upgrade.

I love it when people actually talk good sense.

Panthers WR Steve Smith unhappy with QB Cam Newton

By STEVE REEDBy STEVE REED, AP Sports Writer

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Panthers receiver Steve Smith says he" lit into" Cam Newton about his actions on the sidelines when the young quarterback was replaced late in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's 36-7 blowout loss to the New York Giants.

Smith says he was upset when Newton remained sitting on the bench instead of watching backup Derek Anderson and trying to learn from his own mistakes.

Smith says he called Newton out so he could "understand this is more than about playing football, it's about becoming a man and understanding this is what it's about."

Smith says he hopes the lesson will pay off for Newton down the road.

The 23-year-old Newton has taken losses hard in the past and Smith says it's time for the QB to better handle adversity.

I haven't elevated the NFL to that of the ol pooswaa, yet anyhow. :D

Guess I'm bitter because work commitments keep me from watching during the week, plus I forget it's on and...I can never remember what the f'n channel the NFL Network is on. :x

Ok, I'll admit, what I'm really pissed about is that I didn't realize there was a game and didn't set my fantasy team roster, thus playing an injured player.

That whole little celebration thing he did after his TD when he was down 20-6 at that point was pathetic. Surprised none of the Giants pulled him aside, and said "scoreboard, bitch.". lol
