Not sure that I really get your analogy. You'd have a point if there were actually other teams who didn't even play in the state advertised on their uniforms!

He'd probably be an improvement over Ryan Fitzpatrick, age or not.

I wonder if Drew Bledsoe is still available?

Right, and neither of them even play in the state! Buffalo is the only "New York" NFL team!

It's kinda the same deal in Cincinnati...The "Cincinnati" airport is actually located across the river in Kentucky, along with other things considered to be "in Cincinnati". Always thought that was kinda funny.

Completely embarrassing performance by the Jets with their season on the line. I'm not sure how any team with that much to play for puts on a performance like that on National TV. I knew the Jets sucked before this game, but I thought they would at least show up for this one!

That play where Woolfork put the lineman's ass right in Sanchez's face was classic! Sanchez was nearly knocked unconscious by ass!

The point is, it's pretty irrelevant where they're from or where they play. They represent New York... for better or worse.

I'm still laughing about that. I literally watched that Jets/Pats game with my hands over my eyes with my fingers spread. What a train wreck of epic proportions. I'll never bitch about my team again, no matter how bad they look after witnessing that NYJ performance. Good for both those bigmouth Ryan brothers! Sick of seeing them fat-fucks blabber their clam every week, only to see them pucker their lips right back up their assholes on a weekly basis.

I'd be rooting for a Chad Pennington comeback, or even a second stint with Brett Favre. It's a freakin' miracle my Jets have won at all this year.

Problem with Pennington is that he'd be injured after one play. He was great for one season, though (I loved how he beat the Colts 43-0 in the playoffs during his first season, especially after how the newspapers kept speculating that he'd be no match for Peyton Manning.)

What about Glen Foley? What's he up to these days? Maybe he has some free time and would be willing to help us out.

I've watched that play over and over... and I swear it looks like Sanchez just ran into him....because he wasn't paying attention..

it doesn't look like that lineman got pushed much at all..

either way... that play sticks with Sanchez forever....

To me, it looks like he was finding a tiny crease to slide back to the line of scrimmage and right before he made the decision to slide, he took a bad angle and was completely caught off-guard. What happened could be a variety of things. Sucking has a lot to do with it.

Agreed. Not a good week of picks for me, as I picked a whole lot of dogs that didn't come through. Luckily, Cleveland came through for me. I also picked Baltimore to lose, but I'm certain San Diego will find a way to give it away. Looking ahead, if I'm a Ravens fan, I'd be concerned. They have Pittsburgh, Washington, Denver, the Giants, and end the season with the Bungles. No real "give mes" on that schedule. I could see them easily losing 3 of those games.

Well the Seahawks have been a surprise this season and they seem to have found a good rookie QB in Russell Wilson but this could be their undoing right here. They'll be lucky to make the postseason.

That December 16th game between Dallas 5-6 and Pittsburgh 6-5 could be both these teams fighting for one of the last wild card spots in their respective conferences.I always love to see these two teams play. Both are 1 and 2 in terms of popularity in football and they both consider themselves to have the biggest and loyal fanbases.Between the two they've won 11 Super Bowls and been in 16 or more Super Bowls combined. Also they've played in a total of three Super Bowls('75,'79,'96) against each other with Pittsburgh winning two of the three. No other teams have played each other three times in the big game although there have been plenty of teams who faced each other twice.

I happen to start watching football in 1984 at age of nine when i went played for the first time on a team and quickly got into watching on television. In the 1980's it is safe to say both teams pretty much sucked although Dallas did alright in the earlier part of the decade. My favorite team back then and for many years was Pittsburgh and this was during the Mark Malone/Louis Lipps era where 8-8 or 9-7 was the norm.Of course Dallas had Gary Hogeboom so they were not much better themselves.

I do believe in franchises ability to turn themselves around. For many years i watched Indy suck year in and year out in the basement as far as standings go until 1997 when they got Peyton Manning and things got better.Of course New Orleans had a record straight twenty consecutive losing seasons before finally getting some wins under Coach Mora in the late eighties and in 2006 brought in Sean Payton and Drew Brees and they started winning again including a super bowl. Also can't forget that Buffalo sucked for many years including the OJ Simpson era until 1990 when Bill Polian put together a great roster with Jim Kelly on offense and Bruce Smith running defense and went to four straight super bowls. In the 1960's and 1970's the NY Giants endured losing seasons year after year until in the 80's under Bill Parcells they put together a team that won a couple big ones.Same for San Francisco also in the 80's under Bill Walsh rode Joe Montana to four super bowls in that decade of dominance.Last but not least New England who were mediocre up until 2000 when Bill Belichick and Tom Brady but arrived and together they put together a better winning percentage than any QB/coach in league history and have been to five super bowls winning three of them.

All it takes is the right combination of coaching and players to make a winning franchise.I believe both are equally important for a team to be successful. In the last few years we've watched GM Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin behind QB Eli Manning and a good defense take the Giants to a pair of super bowl wins.Equally important though was how the Giants built their team through the draft where they made some excellent choices including gambling on Pierre Paul in the first round when many predicted he would bust but he has played well.On the other side of the coin GM A.J. Smith and coach Norv Turner were thought to be gone last season but were given one more chance mainly after Phillip Rivers pleaded with ownership but the ride looks over because another losing season is coming in San Diego which means a housecleaning is coming after a decade of not living up to the potential of what they could've achieved. They had enough talent to make something happen but fell short.Same thing for Andy Reid in Philly after a decade plus of considerable regular season success but they could not get over the hump playing only in one super bowl losing it in 2004.Reid like Turner was given one more year to prove himself but fell short just like Turner. Both San Diego and Philly have major chances in store for 2013.

Will be interesting to see where both Turner and Reid end up coaching.

Pittsburgh is decimated too. Both teams have been bit hard by the injury bug.If Roethlisberger is out i give the edge to Dallas but if he comes back in time then Romo vs. Roethlisberger could be a pretty close and entertaining game.

The Steelers ran 10% of their playbook against the Browns yesterday. They lost Willie Colon in pre-game as his knee mysteriously swelled up and rookie Mike Adams, backing up starter Marcus Gilbert, went out with an ankle. 0 lineman to turn to after a rookie 7th round draft pick goes in there to protect a 38 year old QB. The results showed why Tomlin would rather have Leftwhich in there with a bad shoulder and broken ribs over a healthy Charlie Batch. Right now, the Steelers are as watered down as it gets and Woodley is out too with an ankle.

By Dallas, though, I expect some guys like Roethlisberger, Polamalu & Brown to be back into the lineup to atleast keep the team competitive. I expect to be 6-6 after Balty next week, get Ben back for San Diego and hope to go on a little run to snag a 6th spot.

You mean the same Browns that punched Dallas in the throat for 4 QRTS who almost won by the skin of their teeth depending on a last :02 second field goal? Going into the season, I said I was more worried about Cleveland's defense than Baltimore's. That said, Dallas fucking sucks with their starting QB 100% healthy.
