Yesterday Phillip Rivers had no TD's against us after twice driving to our 3 yard line and settling for FG's. Eli Manning had 1 TD very late in the game when it didn't matter. Oakland got 1 offensive TD and KC none. Not to shabby.

Yeaaayeaa, the Steelers are barely giving up 150 yards through the air to any QB in the league. Think San Francisco's defense is good? We're giving up 19.8 yards less a game compared to #2 ranked San Fran in total yardage and 22.3 yards less in passing yards to #2 ranked San Fran. We're just getting Troy back as well and James Harrison looks to be finally healthy. 6th seed will come down to Pittsburgh/Cincy. You got to come here in December in 3 weeks. I might be there on my dad's bday. That place will be rockin.

Fact Finder wrote:You might be getting an aging Troy and Harrison back but you lost Ike Taylor yesterday and that's gonna hurt. Knock on wood but the Bungholes are actually very healthy right now. Last week, before Sanu broke his foot in practice, the Bungs had EVERYONE at practice including our starting center Cook who has been on IR since week one. Everyone practicing the last week of November is practically unheard of in todays NFL.

The Steelers secondary is incredible and made the quickest turnaround of any secondary judging the past 3 seasons. The young guys are actually BALL HAWKS and they are all over the field just waiting to pounce. Get familiar with guys like Keenan Lewis, Cortez Allen, Will Allen & Curtis Brown because those dudes are studs and will step in for Ike when necessary. A healthy Troy in the back-end and a healthy Harrison off the edge will make up for Taylor's loss. The young guys have been holding their own for a long time. The Bengals are a team fielded with potential, but I don't think they oppose a threat like some teams do to get over the hump, especially coming into Pittsburgh and doing damage. We'll see.

My ability to pick games is similar to a team that fumbles every opening kickoff for a TD, then misses every game-winning FG at the end...If I finish in the basement, it'll be because I failed miserably predicting the Thursday and Monday games. The only fluke I've had was my perfect Thanksgiving Day, which gave me more Thursday wins than the rest of the year combined.

You do know that there are only 8 picks between the first and last place team, right? That's a half a pick a week. I'd say that's pretty damn close!

The AFC is putrid? Really? I could make the argument that the top teams in the AFC (Texans, Patriots, Broncos) are better than the top teams in the NFC (Atlanta, Green Bay, San Francisco). I would also make the argument that the top teams in the AFC have been far more consistent than the top three teams in the NFC. Hell, the 49'ers played the lowly Rams (A team the Patriots beat by about 40 points) and couldn't beat them either time! Sorry dude, but the AFC is far from "putrid". At the end of the day, it's wide open, just like it always is. Any team can beat any other team and I wouldn't bet a single dollar on any of these teams. It's simply too unpredictable. What I can tell you is that even though I'm admittedly biased, the Patriots have been the most consistent team in the AFC all season. They have three losses, and two of those games were lost by 1 point and the other was lost by 2 points. They haven't lost a single game in the second half of the season in three freakin' seasons! By the way, that doesn't guarantee them a thing. I wouldn't be stunned if they lost to their first round playoff opponent any more than I would if they won it all. It's football!

Who's watching Barry Sanders A Football Life on NFL Films tonight? One of the most beloved football players of all time who walked away from the game as one of the best ever who had the rushing title in sight. I expect this to be an interesting and very highly anticipated films.

Talk about an elusive RB.....yea, I'm watching if I can remember. For some reason, I always forget about them. The only one I caught the day OF was Ray Lewis.

Edit: HOLY SHIT....I had this confused with Bo Jackson's 30 for 30 on ESPN. LMAO

We took care of Vick, RGIII & Eli for you. The LEAST you could do is nudge Cincy this week so it could be a showdown in Big-D. I'll be PMing you shortly.

Buffalo is one of those teams that I just CANNOT find my way away from. Every fuckin week I hesitate on EVERY game Buffalo plays and they have bitten me all year. Last week though they came through but I'll be takin Buffalo again. I think they have major potential to score 35 points a game but yet, underachieve on a weekly basis, let alone yearly.

I never watch anything live, but the TiVo is set up and ready to record. That fucker was the absolute best running back my two eyes ever witnessed. Great, great player, who was impossible not to like. He was as humble as he was great.

Both teams suck, but on paper, it should be an easy pick. You have a dome team coming into Buffalo in December, coming off of beating one of the supposed best teams in the NFL. Buffalo by 3.

Ravens will probably win, but Washington is a much improved team as of late. Could go the other way.

If the Jets start Sanchez, which I've heard they are, they lose. Why they wouldn't go with McEleroy now is beyond me.

The Saints won't beat the Giants but you're right, the Houston, New England game might be the best game of the week. I still think New England will win by 10.

Commissioner Roger Goodell recently discussed a proposal to eliminate kickoffs with Rich McKay, the head of the league's competition committee, Time magazine reported.

Goodell and McKay discussed an idea brought up by Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano in which a team, instead of kicking off, would get the ball at its own 30-yard line in a fourth-and-15 situation. The team then would punt the ball away or, to replace an onside kick, could go for it and, if they failed to get a first down, the opposing squad would start with great field position.

"The fact is, it's a much different end of the play," Goodell said during the meeting, according to Time.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/87205 ... eport-says

WTF, am I reading this right, after scoring a TD or FG, instead of kicking off, the scoring team gets a chance to keep the ball by getting a first down again.

Do Goodell and McKay have concussions we don't know about?

I know they're trying to reduce injuries, but that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. If you want to eliminate kickoffs, give them the ball on their own goal line or 1 yard line.

Mara was talking about that shit in the offseason. If it happens...attendance will die . I know I won't go see a game. If Goodell lets it happen...he will be the most hated man in the world (worse than now). Ed Reed was right when he called this a powder puff league.

The Steelers were the ONLY team to go against the owners in the locked out off-season. Since 2010, they were handpicked by Goodell to be the NFL's poster bad-boys and lab rats with personal foul penalties and suspensions when suspensions weren't even warranted. Troy Polamalu, the soft-spoken, wonderful human being who barely says a bad word to his greatest of foes, called the league a "pansy league" years ago. It's just now that players like Ed Reed and whoever else (take your pick) is now chattering off the same horseshit we've been saying since this transition started.

Defense is now dead for the time being. Hard hits are to be no more. Now, the entire landscape of the game could jump the shark.

Just got done watching "A Football Life: Barry Sanders". Superbly done. I always loved this guy and feel blessed to have seen his entire career. He was such a special player, and nobody will ever convince me that ANY running back was better than this guy. His humility was truly astonishing. The NFL needs more great players like Sanders who don't have this "Hey, look at me" attitude. The only comparison in any sport I've ever seen to Sanders was the great Bobby Orr. They were both superb players and neither wanted to be anywhere near the spotlight. Definitely worth watching if you haven't seen it yet.

Loved it. I always found Barry to be a very quiet, humble and private man that didn't like the attention of the television camera's so to see him open up to us in that documentary was satisfying. He never changed to this day. I loved the bit where when he was younger, had a chance to eclipse the state's rushing title and instead, opted for the young guys to play and lost the title by a mere couple hundred yards. Coincidence? Don't get me started on Barry just handing the ball to the ref after every touchdown! I can watch that all day with a smile on my face. Dude is a once in a lifetime athlete and human being. It's comforting to know that wherever the game takes itself, there will always be young men out there to turn back the clock and look up to men like Barry Sanders.
